Go big or go home , Texas is literally putt'N on their big pants, with stacks of money in every pocket. They are offering every olinemen a $50K annual NIL deal on top of whatever the rest of the team puts together as NIL deals. MIAMI is gonna have to start showing these big boys some love, because the rest of the $EC is not gonna let that UT deal go unchallenged, since it is a LOS conference.

Also you gotta love the name of the UT non profit organization "The Pancake Factory" they are using to funnel the money to the olinemen! This approach is pure genius because olinemen tend be the least marketed position on a team unless they are a stellar group "the Washington Redskins Hogs" or similar. NIL deals flow to the pretty positions, but the game is won with the big uglies.

That John Ruiz money, Marcus Lemonis money, and Mas brothers money would do wonders with this NIL stuff more so than trying to relocate a high school and build an erector set stadium.

But a billion dollars in an NIL endowment and pay the players and Mario will clean up the recruiting trail.

They tried to fight it and legally lost. Can't really blame them for what happens next
I agree but their response were no guidelines. It was inevitable but they could have provided some structure. In the end hopefully we can benefit.

NIL is about to become so stupid If it has not already.
Look at all the kids who received big NIL money last season who either underperformed or were injured. The corporations received next to no return on investment.
But if a school just wants to pay players like this Texas deal, there is nothing stopping them. And doing it thru a non-profit is just basically boosters paying players like the good ole days. The only difference is that now the kids will have to pay income tax.

It's no different than the deal that Miami got with that MMA gym.

Does anyone actually believe Texas boosters weren't "donating" this money before the NIL? Now they can write it off.

If I was the IRS I would look into these deals and disallow deductions for donations to non-profits which are just being used to funnel money to athletes.

Once again NIL didn’t “level” any playing field. The schools with money will widen the gap. Folks better join Lambert and get these kids paid, or all that investment into the program will be for a couple ACC titles and nothing more.
Yeah, this was predictable. The bamas of the world will just do some of their paying out in the open now.
