Chud

Except Petine took the same team, and has already won twice the games Chud won ... And he didn't get his best offensive player back until Sunday.

I think Petine is showing Chud should have had a better record last year ... And they made the right decision in moving on.

I give them credit for realizing early Chud wasn't what they wanted ... I wish our BOT and AD would be so wise and expedient.

Personality of a wet blanket.
Failed badly as a HC.
Players supposedly didn't trust him.
Not interested in recruiting.
Has never been a college HC.
The guy who replaced him in Cleveland has already doubled his win total with 5 games still left.

Sounds like a great choice for HC.

If Dud didn't attend UM no one would ever mention his name in connection with this job.

Find a guy who has proven himself as a college HC and has consistently done more with less. Think Pink.

Some dudes just aren't CEO material. Some guys are destined to be coordinators. I think Chud might be one of these guys.

Let him cut his teeth at a small school as HBC first.

Chud was Devin Hester's primary recruiter. He's a Midwesterner (Toledo), but definitely a straight shooter. Never heard anything about the players not trusting him. Worked his way up from a grad assistant, to TE coach, and then O-Coordinator. He's the guy Butch pulled up to Cleveland to run the offense up there. Clearly Butch (whose nut sack must be down to his ankles with all the love he's getting on this board) thought quite a bit of Chud. As does Chuck Pagano (another ex-Cane coach), who put him on the Colts' staff a week after he got f....d in Cleveland.

I can't verify any of the stuff being said about Chud, but let me be clear, if he replaced Golden I'd be happier than a mass murderer getting off on a technicality.

I don't know if its an obsession - I just think he's a viable alternative. Obviously his ties to the U, the fact that he was successful as a player and a coach, his pro-experience, makes him a plus. It speaks volumes that guys like Butch and Pagano respect him as a coach. That being said, he does not have any experience as a head coach in college (although half his teammates or players seem to be coaching HS ball in South Florida). Would I prefer the young Stoops (Kentucky) or Jim Leavitt (San Fran), of course.

Very well liked by the people at UM. Do not think he's the first choice, but certainly think he could win here.
