Choc out for season

No redshirt for homer now.

I would still redshirt him, n if another injury occurs between Walton, Edwards or Yearby, then burn it.... we need to save him...

A while back i read where Richt said he regretted redshirting some RB at Georgia since he ended up leaving early anyway and that changed his outlook on redshirting (at least of RBs), cause if they're good they're not going to stick around for 5 years, so you might as well get the most out of them while you can.

On that note, here is a serious question for everyone (i have no idea what the answer is):

When is the last time Miami had a 5th year senior starting running back?

James Jackson in 2000

Javarris James?

I thought he was a fifth year guy during Jacory's sophomore year, but I could be wrong.

No, he played as a true freshman. From Wiki: James, as a true freshman, played in the first game of the 2006 season against rival Florida State. Head coach Larry Coker named James the starting running back by the fourth game of the season. James responded by rushing for 148 yards on 18 carries, an 8.2 yards per carry average, and a touchdown in his first college start against Houston.

not sure why he felt the need to point out him being low on the depth chart. d!ck move in my opinion

My thoughts exactly. I don't care if the kid is a walk on that will never see the field. He's a Miami Hurricane.

I am giving Barry the benefit of the doubt here; I took him mentioning the position on the depth chart as something that was aimed at the more casual fans that might not no the depth chart well.

That's who it was aimed at. **** there are some sensitive people around here.

Good luck to the young man in his recovery.

I don't think he should have mentioned it, but clearly it was directed at the irrational cliff jumping portion of our fan base.

I bet there's still people here who think he should get some carries this year.

Sad, but funny regardless. Some people hyped this young man up and he just hasn't been able to break through here. This year it didn't appear to be heading that way either.

He's got a tough choice to make. Stay and focus on his degree or to pursue his football dreams elsewhere as it doesn't look like he'll ever make it to the front of the depth chart. My apologies if that sounds harsh, but sometimes life is.
