He made several big plays yesterday. Looks like he has his athleticism back. Last year he looked slow when he was in.

When he committed I thought he was going to be a star, then all the injuries hit.

Wasn't expecting him to be making plays all over the field like he was last night. Big hits in the run game, blowing up the WR pass he was going to attempt, chasing down players in the flats, tipping passes, recovering the fumble.

Big respect for a Cane that stuck out all the hard times and making an impact as a Sr.

Chase Smith had 5 tackles, a batted pass and a fumble recovery on 22 snaps. This is who we all were excited about when he committed to the Canes. Credit to him and the coaching staff for working hard and remaining consistent and loyal to the process

If Chase Smith stays healthy and keeps playing like this, he should start. For comparison, Toure didn’t register a tackle —IJS

If NCAA grants Chase Smith another year with his ideal measurables and he gets two good years on film, he might have an opportunity to play at the next level

These guys were definitely overthinking and confused under the previous coordinator.

Kids always been a specimen with his combination of size and speed. Injuries and Corching always hindered him, but the little he played early on he flashed like lightning. Glad to see him put it all together last night under the tutelage of Coach Hetherman.

One thing I know about Chase, kid gives effort and has an abundance of heart. U need kids like 41 on winning rosters.

Loved him as a recruit.

He also plays on specials.

6'3 kid that seems to be running back better...id guess hes about 230+.

Not sure if he gets a med year for an extra year but he may be able to but he deserves his props so far this szn been real active...he has 2 fumble recoveries already.
