last years Texas team didnt have a single player drafted and i wouldnt be surprised if they dont have a single player drafted again this year. Strong came into an actual rebuilding situation... unlike Golden no matter what he says about clouds and bs, we've had NFL talent on the roster every year hes been the HC. Enough to win the Coastal and even the ACC at some point by now.
 
Mack browns last year when they beat tcu... TCU won 4 games that year.. so can't say it texas was good that year based off that.. everyone knows Texas has below average talent.. only good player was that DT that got drafted in the first round this past year. It'd take Nick Saban a few years to turn that thing around.

Texas A&M, TCU, Baylor are all better now than they have ever been. His recruiting base has always been SoFla. I just think it's bad timing and an extremely awkward fit. If he took the job at a place like South Carolina, I think he'd kill it.

Not saying I want him here. Not saying I don't. He usually surrounds himself with a great staff. Meh.

I lived in Texas the past 2 years and most people I talked to liked Charlie Strong. What he did to upset people was he personally tried to recruit South Florida and had assistants trying to recruit Texas. In an interview I watched of Strong he said he would handle recruiting for 7 or 8 of the guys while his staff would handle their positions. Strong was also suppose to support them as well. Of the 7 or 8 Charlie choose to recruit 5 from South Florida (The Florida 5). When the first thing your head coach does is try and recruit out of state while schools like Baylor, TCU and A&M are loading up on athletes from in Texas then you are going to upset people, especially when those schools are blowing you out.

2011 - 7 wins
2012 - 11 wins (losses to Syracuse and UCONN. Best win was Gators in Sugar Bowl)
2013 - 12 wins (Loss to UCF. Best win was over Miami)

Charlie Strong is a total fraud.

Beat nobody in a weak conference with far superior talent.
