Charlie Strong

No thanks.

We are done hiring losers at this school.

Next coach has to have head coaching experience or do we get a talented o/d coordinator?

What is most important is that we get a head coach who is an X's and O's guy with a very aggressive mentality and approach to every aspect of the game.

"Recruiters" and "CEOS" aren't successful in this game. You win ball games, you get recruits. It's very simple. All of our past successful head coaches were X's and O's guys and brought something unique to the table. Schnelly with his offense, JJ with his defense, Erickson with his early spread. Then you have Butch who surrounded himself around future NFL coaches and head coaches.

Remember you're dealing with Broke. It isn't very simple.

Charlie has one more year at UT. And he's going to smash... I think it's funny people bring up Bridgewster when his highest draft picks were defensive players... Dude's team is improving each week... You can't blame him for the kicker and punter... He's putting freshmen on the field to compete with grown men and they are holding their own... Outside ND UT has been showing promise. And I'm calling it now... UT will upset Baylor and TCU on Saturday.

No they won't.

Black kids want to play for white coaches (tounge in cheek)

Explain why he would do well at Miami.

My though is (he's not my #1 choice by any means) he's an accomplished black head coach. Black kids and parents would flock to him. He hasn't forgotten how to coach since leaving Louisville. He just got thrown into an situation where no one really wanted him and his roster is worse than anyone realized.

He coached as a gator and a domer. Those are two good reasons to not want him. I doubt the UT fires him this year.

I still think he turns it around at Texas. If they fire him prematurely I'd be on board with him, before another MAC level coach.

The shine is off of Chalie Strong. We need a real offensive mind down here that can utilize the South Florida talent. Tom Herman would be great. Of course, Butch is the obvious choice.

UT has been improving to me since ND... They just have bad players. They were bad before he came. It's not like he's getting demolished. His team are in position to win but they have bad players that just ***** up the game... Calling it now UT over TCU.

Explain...

So last year they went 6-7 (46%) (5-4) and allowed 23.8 PPG

This year they're 1-3 (25%) (0-1) and allow 35+ PPG.

Explain improvement?

"Black kids and parents would flock to him."

What a ludicrous statement. Black kids want to play for good coaches, just like the white kids do.

If they regress, I wouldn't be shocked if he was let go.

The D looks like garbage and they may win less games.

Well, they do take football serious out there. Only one banner to take out the AD! We will probably need a cruise missile through the presidents office to make our point.

I think he could do well at Miami but I agree with others, if he doesn't get a winning record at UT this year we should not even consider.

Golden is pathetically bad. We don't need a great coach to win the ACC, get in the playoffs and win the title. We need a good coach. Perfect example: Jimbo Fisher. Good coach... sure, great coach? eh...

Ah yes Reverend Al makes his typical "defend the black guy" porst. This clown literally comments on nothing else.

My thought is, he is another conservative coach who I want no where near the program.

We need someone ruthless, not a guy who runs an offense as a slow pace with an NFL QB and a host of talent around him.

my concern with strong was he cleaned house the year Shannon was fired. his success was built off that class. also replaced pertino so it wasnt an empty shelf. i would like to see more. he would prob be better than mario. to me it would be like hiring schiano basically. they would be consistent but not dominant.

my concern with strong was he cleaned house the year Shannon was fired. QUOTE]

And Jimbo,Saban, & Muschamp cleaned house while Golden had job security...**** Bowden cleaned house during during the Erickson & Butch years.
$h!t, UF came down to SoFlo and pistol whipped Golden for Cronkrite,Scarlett, & Callaway, during a coaching transition.
Recruiting is opportunistic also, it is what it is.
