Charlie Strong impromptu press conference soon

Hmmm I wonder what fired coach he sounds like. Almost word for word with Al Golden. Strong is a loser just like AG.

Strong a loser???? Lol.... u got to be kidding me.... guy won a BCS bowl Game against a pretty good Florida Team.. hs a winning record as a coach... far from a loser, just Texas is not the right fit for him... plus he beat his rival u like AG

If you take a closer look at the schedule, minus the Iowa State debacle (who also took Okie State to the rail), here are his losses this year:

ND
Cal
Ok St.
TCU
WVA

He's about to have his 2nd losing season in a row after taking over an 8-9 win program that is much closer to Miami than Louisville is. He's a huge loser.

What does "he's a bad fit" even mean? Please explain what you mean by that.

The answer most likely will be of the racial variety. Although there is nothing to back that up, I am sure that is close to the top.

He is a "bad fit" because he voluntarily went to a job that has all the resources in the world and is failing at it. He is a "bad fit" because he can't win there.

Congrats on his inability to beat those teams!

Can you explain why his team is regressing?

That's what I figured, but I'll let the QP answer for himself.

Hopefully he has a better argument than playing the race card.

Racist or not, isn't he still failing?

The most impressive thing about the list of teams he has lost to, is the length of the list.

No he isn't. He beat Oklahoma man. AG couldn't beat his rival, so it follows that Strong is a good coach. Never mind the inexplicable losses/shut outs. Never mind the fact that he took over an 8-9 win program and built it into a 6 win program.

The best 6 win program ever!

Of course he is failing at TX. But the logical point of emphasis for those that love Strong so much will be "it's a bad fit". Which in their mind means he is failing because they won't support a black head coach at TX. Forget the fact that Sumlin is a black head coach, at A&M and plays in the SEC.

Im stationed out here in Texas, and it aint about the race card so syo it...he has absolutely no connections here..... a few people were rubbed the wrong way cause they thought he focused too mich on Florida and wanted him to focus solely on Texas because of the number of prospects at his disposal...heard that from a coach when I went to my First Sergeants nephew Rashard Odomes Basketball game..he now plays at Oklahoma... at a bball game and majority of the people were talkin football...lol

But none of that has anything to do with a 4-6 record in Year 2 -- soon to be 4-8 after TTU and Baylor get done with him -- and an offense & defense both ranked in the 90s. The five best players in Strong's 2015 class (a top 10 haul) were in-state studs, including five-star freak Malik Jefferson.

Lack of talent or political recruiting issues aren't the cause of the disastrous on-field product. People are so quick to make "bad fit" excuses for Strong and it's absolutely ridiculous.

And people are so quick to dismiss him as a bad fit for Miami or dont want him...he brought in some 5 star players, but they arent the problem..the QB play is...they havent had a decent QB since who??? Plus Connor Brewer and David Ash are no longer there and they would have put up better play than what they have now

Texas didn't have one player drafted in the NFL draft last season. The Canes after Golden's first year had 6 players. Mack Brown let that program go way down the crapper. It's easy to simply look at the record and state Charlie Strong is crap, even though he did great at Louisville (outside of Teddy, that defense was pretty elite).

HE IS REGRESSING. Does that matter at all?

The offenses Strong faced while at Louisville were far inferior to the up-tempo spreads from the Big XII that are running a train on his Texas defenses on a weekly basis. Not to mention that Strong's Louisville defense gave up 34 vs. UNC, 35 vs. Pittsburgh, 31 vs. Cincinnati, and 36 vs. Syracuse during their 11-2 season in 2012.

Also haven't seen a single person bash Strong while solely focusing on his abysmal W-L record.

- Total offense and total defense ranked in the 90s
- Retained traditional pro-style West Coast OC to install up-tempo spread, even though he had no experience running that type of offense
- Scapegoated OC one game into the season
- Shutout by Iowa State
- Giving up 37.5 PPG in losses
- The above number will balloon over 40 when Texas Tech and Baylor get done with them
- Current recruiting class ranking in Year 2: 50th

The "bad fit" talk is nonsense. People called Golden a bit fit at Miami, too.

He was though... anybody with common sense saw that Golden was, he recruited more talent out of state than in his own backyard...then when the Heat gor turned up on him, we saw how all of our commits were from florida except 1, and that was Izon Pulley... Strong and Butch are to me the best choices for this job...and the biggest difference between Strong and Golden...Strong can coach, Golden cant

I don't care about Texas, I just care about Miami. Let's get a coach in there now. Butch or Herman is the best choice.
