Technically its a semi automatic rifle.A rifle
Not even remotely designed for combat
Definitely not an assault rifle

Ya my neighbor was in the navy and came over crying in a panic because I was shooting mine on my 5 acres a few weeks ago. No surprise there.Well take your rifle and just go walk around town and good luck in your journey
And by the way, I spent 20 years in the Navy and my division was, literally in charge of all the wink wink “rifles”, and small arms aboard our naval submarines. I think I would know.
what do you call an A.R. 15……a handgun?
I mean the obvious answer is the AR cannot shoot a 3 round burst or fully automatic.
Sorry. M4A2 Carbine = AR15 and I dare someone to argue, I know first hand.
No reason is, not should be mad for combat, but for self defense and hunting. It's people that make dumb decisions, not the weapon, but on the subject of "combat weapon"... nah, the M4 and AR is pretty much the same thing and the M4 is the standard US Army weapon.
I know you’re a smarter than this but come on dude, to say that the AR 15 is not designed for combat when they use them in the military is just asinine
Yeah what was the PC on the stop? In Cali they now have to tell you the reason for the stop which is great... so just say sorry for speeding or whatever, but I don't answer questions and accept the ticket and be on your way - ESPECIALLY when you have guns in your car and paying a traffic ticket is nbd cause you're an NFL player.Allowing those lunatics to search your vehicle without a warrant is asinine on his part.

FYI. The guy you're addressing was 82nd Airborne. He's talking about the basic design, not the actual functionality. The word 'Assault' is very much like the term, "Bumrush."
You are attacking the enemy - and to keep other's heads down as you advance in bursts - you have to put down lots of lead. As in Full Auto.
Anyone that tries to dispel that - is FOS.
So - the full auto option *two clicks from "Safe," is mandatory for an assault weapon.
An AR-15 isn't full auto. It's not going to be chosen by anyone that's in on the Assault portion. It's not a military weapon.
The sphincter on an Ostrich may look a lot like the sphincter on a Emu - but they're not the same thing.
The bolt's are different - and not interchangeable. The Selector switch is different. Furniture may be similar or even identical - used as it's already available. Both are black - basalt and coal - but they're not the same thing, either.
One is setup to fire the .223. The military rifle is set up to fire the 5.56 NATO - and while CLOSE - not the exact same round - the NATO round has more pressure. Got to keep that in mind if you're a reloader.
The .223 is still a .22 - just more powder in a larger case and different bullets - soft lead versus FMJ.
It's not good for hunting - unless for neighbors stray dogs, cats, and small game like rabbits - and it's not good for killing enemy soldiers.
It's good for sorry shooters - who can't hit squat but can carry more cartridges.
Discernment from facts sure will help one from looking like a dumbasc.
They were probably garden-variety AR's, with a standard grip - which IIRC are illegal in occupied territory. Instead you have to have this sort of dumbassery:But also I'm not like super knowledgeable about gun laws here, but I was pretty sure you can transport an AR15 ....
These types of mischaracterizations are continuously used as justification to infringe upon the 2A.Why the hate for california lol, and why are y'all angry about miscategorizing a gun, genine question
It’s the same **** weaponThey don’t. I’m guessing you didn’t serve? AR-15 is basically the civilian design of an M16 or M4.
You can have most features if you have maglock though… and again pretty sure you could technically separate the gun and it will also NOT be considered a semi-auto technically (as long as you don’t say you intend to put it together lol). They were probably garden-variety AR's, with a standard grip - which IIRC are illegal in occupied territory. Because the inability to wrap your thumb stops if from being a mass baby-killing assault-glock grenade launcher.
Being 'assembled' doesn't make it an 'assault rifle' in the eyes of your leaders, having a 'pistol-grip' and a >10 round magazine does (among other minor things like a forward grip, non-pinned flash hider). You can have most features if you have maglock though… and again pretty sure you could technically separate the gun and it will also be considered a semi-auto technically (as long as you don’t say you intend to put it together lol).
But again I’d say how does routine traffic stop end with a search of you trunk? I assume they asked if he had any weapons and he said yes and they asked where. But idk if you technically need to answer that question or not. Not sure if whatever permit I assume he had makes it so you have to answer… but then again if you don’t answer then shouldn’t have pc to search anyways… so… just keep your mouth shut tbh
Then why can't I go to my local gun store and buy an M4 if 'its the same'?It’s the same **** weapon

Right if you buy the “featureless” version or a maglock it is not consider an assault weapon… which I mentioned. However there is another method which is what I also said (I kinda misspoke meant it’s not an assault weapon)Being 'assembled' doesn't make it an 'assault rifle' in the eyes of your leaders, having a 'pistol-grip' and a >10 round magazine does (among other minor things like a forward grip, non-pinned flash hider).
I dont make the laws... which in the eyes of - is anything but pedantic.Isn’t legit like the only difference no select fire and a slightly longer barrel… seems yall are being pedantic.
It’s like saying the performance version of a vehicle isn’t the same model…
