Changes to CFB Playoffs? Likely for 2026 not 2025

I still think 4 rounds is too much with conference championships as it is. There is no way imo you can have both conference championships and 5 rounds of playoffs.

Give me 15 rounds of regular season, 1 BYE. No conference championship, and 4 rounds of playoffs. Idc about the difference between 12 and 16 teams.

It was always one of the best weekends, but with the expanded playoff it’s become almost irrelevant. I’d rather they got rid of it, no one gets a bye and season ends a week or two earlier.

I’d rather find a way to make the games beneficial again, like top four ranked P4 conference champs get a first round bye but obviously it’s not practical.

This is the argument I hate the most.

What the heck does “most deserving” mean? The CFPC changes the definition every single year. We cannot keep changing the CFP every other year just because the CFPC (and by proxy, ESPN) refuses to be consistent. This is 100% on them.
