Championship caliber teams through week 5

What happened to that cal running back? Ott?

I haven’t seen him play in a single game unless I missed him getting snaps

Found this. Forgot he transferred there till you mentioned it, lol. Mekhi Hughes at Oregon another portal RB that apparently made a terrible decision.

Ron Burgundy What GIF
🤣🤣 slightly joking but not really lol I love that Vandy is a real team with Pavia

TIER 1
Miami, Ohio State, Oregon

TIER 2
UGA, Bama, Oklahoma

Tier 3
Texas Tech, Penn State, Texas, Texas A&M, Notre Dame, Tennessee, Ole Miss, LSU

I wouldn’t want to draw A&M in the playoffs because I think Reed can beat anyone on any given day. But he is too inconsistent to win multiple playoff games to win it all. High ceiling but low floor type player.

Oregon & taint obviously the 2 best teams outside Miami.

Ty Simpson has been rolling. Bama will have something to say about who gets crowned.

Fair. Sucks to drop a spot but can’t argue with the Ducks after that big road win. Better them than PSU.

Interesting that Kiffin made it to the top 4, just behind Mario. Back when he was at FAU, I argued that he would be an inexpensive upgrade at HC (I also advocated for Heupel at UCF FWIW) to replace Richt when he retired. But a lot of porsters here swore Kiffin would NEVER get another job at a P5 school and his ceiling was a FAU level school.

I still have yet to see a team that scares me. There are some other good teams out there that all pose some issues, but I feel as good about our chances vs anyone as I have in actual decades.

Pretty much spot on.

Oregon and Ohio State are great all-around teams but have deficiencies and faults just like any other team. If I had to say which one I think I would rather avoid it is Oregon cause their offense is better.

SEC teams do not scare me at all.

A team like Texas Tech bought themselves a good team. But they still play in the B12 so it is going to be difficult to truly judge them.

Something Josh Pate just said tonight on his show (Sun Sep 28) that really validated a lot of the sentiment around here since the season kicked off:
*while discussing the UGA-Bama game*

"And now, it's pretty obvious watching them -- in the portal era, in the high-level NIL era -- they (UGA) don't have the kind of players Miami has"

****, that felt good to hear.

This is where I am. Bama got one of the highest highs but their floor isn’t good as seen.

Oregon is likely similar to us in I believe in what they’ll bring week to week. I’m still monitoring Ohio State.

I was watching Ellis Robinson and thinking it’s the first time I watched Georgia and wasn’t envious of their Corners. And I ain’t watched any team that has a Mesidor or Bain yet

I think it’s kinda tough to gauge a lot of these teams. The one thing I do feel confident saying is, we won’t play a team with a better OL/DL combo in the nation.
