Chad Thomas was one of a few defensive standouts at the 2018 Shrine Game, and he'll have another week to impress scouts as he earned a late invitation to the Senior Bowl.

The 6'6" edge-rusher recorded 23.5 tackles for loss over the last two seasons at Miami (FL) and picked up 4.5 sacks in both his junior and senior seasons.

Thomas came into the Shrine Game off strong performances against Clemson in the ACC Championship and Wisconsin in the Orange Bowl. In his final two collegiate games, Thomas recorded 11 tackles, four tackles for loss and two sacks.

With scouts already starting to buzz about Thomas, he should boost his stock further over the next week in Mobile, Alabama.

I can't help but think he's a rock solid 2nd round pick.

The sack numbers aren't there, but he's an ever-improving player and I think he is going to shock some people at the combine with his overall athleticism. He won't be a Force Player, but he'll be a few ticks below.

Chad will be a good Pro. Maybe not a star but a guy in the rotation and can hold his own for several years.

Starting to feel that way as well. Wouldn't be surprised to see him drafted in the 2nd round. Would be great to see considering the first half of his career was wasted by Golden and crew.

State-of-the-art studio coming soon...get your money, Chad!

I think he can sneak into the 2nd round once the scouts start to notice his size and athleticism. If he goes late 3rd or early 4th, whichever team drafts him will feel like they've gotten the steal of the draft.

Calais Campbell. That is who Chad Thomas can project out to be IMO. 3-4 DE or a 4-3 DE that can kick down and bring pressure from the DT spot on passing downs. Chad has a ton of scheme flexibility in him and he knows the techniques and calls for both.

I'm not sure he will make it day 1, but i bet when it is all said and done he will give some late first round GMs looking for DL help A LOT to think about when they're on the clock.

Great news - I hope he shows out at the senior Bowl.

I see Thomas as similar to Olivier Vernon - great athlete who didn't quite put it all together in college, but was a 3rd round pick and has had a great NFL career. I can see Chad's career playing out like that.

IMO he's a late second round guy. Could sneak in there with a dominant showing at senior bowl. More likely a third rounder, which by the way, is a lot more money then he would've had if he declared after junior year.

Different bodies and skill sets, but I could see a similar career arc. Not a bad comparison at all.
