Chad Morris fired

I don't know why Morris took that job. He probably could have waited for a better gig somewhere else. Bielema had spent years trying to flip that roster over to be like Wisconsin, which is the opposite of what Morris does offensively. It was going to be a several year uphill battle from Day 1 there.

Arkansas is a very tough place to win.

Not a great recruiting base, really difficult conference to build something at slowly, a board and admin that has money but kind of sucks.

They need to find a Mullen in Starkville type of guy. Good offensive acumen, recruits the undesireables well, good culture guy.

Right now...the roster is doo doo.

Mike Norvell and Bill Clark come to mind as coaches that might be good choices for them.

Choad Morris was an absolute disaster. Arkansas can be a steady South Carolina/Kentucky 8 or 9 win program if coached up right. Petrino had them rolling. Houston Nutt did a good job there too.

If Gus Malzahn wants to be a hometown hero he might wind up there.

Morris jumped at the first P5 job offered, and it was a mistake. Had he been at SMU the last 2 seasons, he’s probably have his pick of FSU or Baylor (when Rhule leaves) or Kentucky (if FSU hires Mark Stoops) or South Carolina (when Muschamp is fired).

He was a terrible fit for Arkansas.

That noted ... Leach, Norvell, and Clark are all great options. And if Malxhan is looking for a nice landing spot, Arkansas fits that description. Though, FSU does, too ...

Michigan State job could open up. D’Antonio was once a Gawd to this board, but has struggled the last 2,3 seasons. There also is a scandal related to his signing off on recruits of seriously questionable character. One was arrested for rape or sexual assault. The school is already enduring one horrible scandal, they may just come to an agreement for D’Antonio to retire.

Since when is Kentucky or South Carolina a steady 8-9 win program?
