CFP Week 1 Rankings - Nov 3

What is this crazy pod crap? I beat you but we are not in the same pod so we were not compared together. So until we are in the same pod head to head does not matter.

Oklahoma State w/ 3 losses and a victory over Oregon = Unranked

Lmao

SMU unranked 6-2, VT 6-2 unranked

Get me to the B1G

WF at 16 lmaooot

So you saw the SEC glazing, and your response is NOT to go to the SEC, but instead the B1G?

Interesting…

Yeup, **** the sec and the b1g has a bigger bag.

We can’t get into the sec anyways for multiple reasons: both the acc and sec are subsidiaries of Disney & disney doesn’t want to lose so much acc inventory, sec prefers flagship state schools and we’d threaten vandy’s unique status as the only private school, UF isn’t going to allow us and fsu into the conference, etc.

Interesting take; w/o digging deeper, this analysis is maybe trying to shine even more of a light on the SEC machine at play (pay$$$$$$)

TrumpyCane has no issue with the ND ranking, basically telling them if you beat Miami you'll be in, if you lose your schedule is *** sand you dont deserve to be in and honestly helps us, ND is going to be so tight on Saturday

Bama at 5 and Texas at 7 are a joke

Your logic is somewhat sound, but missing a key point: if ESPN doesn’t want to lose Miami, and if the option is B1G (non-ESPN) or SEC (ESPN)… which one do you think they will push for?

Not sure if the point has been made but this weekend is a de facto elimination game.

If Miami loses they need to win the ACC championship. A 11-2 Miami with a loss in the ACC championship isn’t getting in.

So then how is it a de facto elimination game if it doesn't eliminate Miami?

Your 2nd sentence I agree with, and is very likely correct. But your first sentence makes no sense.

It's not a de facto elimination game for ND, it is absolutely an elimination game for ND.

The game has zero meaning whatsoever for Miami, other than removing the safety net and impacting seeding (and obviously the rivalry). If Miami loses 77-2, we will still be a heavy favorite to make the playoff.

This is how they justified not putting us above Notre dame until the very end; but it’s just nonsense propaganda lol; they changed how many teams were in the pods at the end of season when Notre dame was tenth and miami was twelfth

At one point it was four teams in a pod then it was three teams then they have to be side by side in rankings for it matter … it’s bewildering. Head to head only matters if the two teams are literally next to each other according to them

They won’t push for us in the SEC because the stakeholders of the sec will vote against I.e. uf and South Carolina + swing conf voters don’t want miami fsu Clemson etc in their conference.

if disney seems us (+ the others ready to go) as irreplaceable they’ll just find a way to pay us what sec teams make in order to keep us in the acc

That seems like a win win then, no? So in your scenarios, there still is no reason to go B1G.

We stay in the ACC, ESPN pays us more money, and have an easier path to the CFP, or ESPN pushes for us to go to the SEC.

So… no B1G.
