CFP Week 1 Rankings - Nov 3

Big10 vs sec should be required if expansion occurs. All 24 in both have to play 1 or 2 from the other conference. I don’t care if it is rivalry games or not. Keeping Miami vs FSu would be good for football.
Agreed, but whether it will continue is very much up in the air depending on how expansion goes. College football is a mess.

I definitely won't be watching the playoff games with these overrated SEC teams, unless they're playing us. Not giving these people any type of good ratings for their pathetic bias.

An undefeated B1G team is #8. Nearly half of the berths are given to $EC teams. They are really doing everything to make me (and I would think a lot of other non-$EC school fans) to begin to not give a s**t.

Follow the money. Truth is if you love college sports you need the ACC And Big 12 to succeed in the playoff. As much as it helped us last year it seemed a bit odd that the committee didn't punish championship losses unless you were outside of the SEC 🤷. Why did BYU drop and Alabama remain unscathed?

The real problem is the mega conferences without divisions. It's the luck of the draw who you play in conference. Last year SEC had 4 teams 7-1 in conference. This year only 2 teams left with 1 conference loss and 6 teams have 2 losses already. The move to 9 conference games makes almost mathematically impossible for only 3 teams to have less than 3 losses this year.

So we have a "committee" to determine which of the 6 2 loss teams are the best.

Instead of 16 team P4 playoff with 8 divisions. 4 from each P4. 4 conference champs advance. Decided on the field. No polls no committee no bias. Just makes too much sense.

Makes too much sense. With TV money (and CFP money) heavily tilted toward only 2 of the P4, I doubt it will happen.

The P4 needs a "constitutional convention" with a modern day Pete Rozelle to show revenue sharing of TV money is the way to go. Then move on to scheduling standardization, formal transfer portal rules and limits, etc.

Because Alabama was the better brand. It's less about wins and losses and more about getting the hot brands in there. Thankfully the Canes have their brand. If Wake Forest was the undefeated team, they'd be right after undefeated UCLA at #9.

Florida has 3 losses by a combined 66 points.

USCe had 3 losses by a combined 38 points.

Missouri has two losses by a combined 35 points.

Ole Miss has two losses by a combined 31 points.

Alabama has two losses by a combined 19 points.

Kentucky has 1 loss that was by 28 points.

That's 6 of the teams the SEC has ranked. Across those teams, the average loss is by 17 points. These aren't 3 point losses within a competitive conference. These aren't losses to undefeated teams. You should not even sniff the playoff if you're getting blown out of games.

Teams like Miami are debating whether or not 11-2 will get us into the playoff, regardless of whether we lose those two games by 1 point. Yet, you can get absolutely demolished, MULTIPLE TIMES, in the SEC and it's not even a talking point. If Florida runs the table they have a chance to make the playoff. Like....what are we doing here?

That was my point. I may not have conveyed it correctly l. Either way the greater point is to send them hoes home
