CFP system. why not 8 teams just this year.

Every year # 4 gets destroyed in the first round of the playoffs. I do not see anybody 5 thru 8 especially #8 Georgia a serious contender to win it all. As far as Ohio st the committee should punish them they made their bed so let them lie in it. If Miami ends up #8 do you think they could win it all?
 
No. Bigger the expansion the more losses teams like bama get yearly. I like season games meaning something

No need. Cincy & BYU can just win out and claim National Titles on their own like UCF did.
 
Not going to happen this year, but I think 8 teams is the way to go. Power 5 conference winners and 3 at large. Maybe make a rule that 3 teams from one conference could not all go.

This makes sense.
An 8 team playoff would give the usual teams the benefit of the doubt after two or three losses. (Bama and OSU would perennially be in it essentially.)

Or it would give us seasons of 4 teams from the SEC or something stupid like that.
I don't think many people want to see that.

More than likely. Especially if they keep the special committee selection show process crap.

Maybe they will throw a team a bone every once in a while but I believe they would just give the nod to SEC multiple teams in most years.

I totally agree with what your saying, I just see them eventually expanding to 8. For money for playoff games.

The total pot gets bigger if more games are held, and sold to TV.

Yes it was they said the BCS would never allow an undefeated group of 5 team to compete for a Natty but the playoff would. Which has yet to be seen. I think now this is why people now want a 6 or 8 team playoff to get those teams in during a year they are undefeated. Like BYU and Cincy this year both will go undefeated and be left out yet again.
 
8 teams with a guarantee that P5 conference champions get a spot would solve most complaints of being left out (among P5). An additional rule of no more than 2 teams from a conference would prevent some of the committee's agenda from being pushed through. Personally I'd rather see it limited to only 1 team per conference with the guarantee that champions go. That way the conference championships mean something. But none of this fixes the fundamental problem with college football which is the recruiting/cheating system where existing advantages are rewarded simply because they exist while fraudulent overlords of the sport protect their favorites and constantly work to thwart a level playing field in an amateur sport.

In any normal sport, a division/ conference title is an automatic playoff spot. Not in the corrupt world of college football.

16 teams. 11 conference champions and 5 at large. Start the playoffs the week after conference championships. Keep ALL OF THE BOWLS. Either incorporate them into playoff rounds or fill them with playoff losers to play in late Dec/Jan.

Otherwise, make g5 its own division with its own championship. Expand p5 to eight teams with 3 at large.

College football gets even bigger.

Usually the argument is the smaller schools have no chance against the big boys. Well usually they don't, but we remember the Boise State win over Oklahoma, we remember Villanova and NC State in March madness. You know, they had no shot either.

PERFECT TIME. 2020 IS A DIFFERENT ANIMAL. ALSO IF IT TURNS OUT LIKE WE ALL THINK. THEY WILL NOT HAVE AN EXCUSE TO NOT DO IT AGAIN. THEIR REASONING IS SO BULL****. I WONDER IF THEY BELIEVE IT THEMSELVES.
