We should embrace taking more risk in the passing game the rest of the year.
I think the problem is when they try the oline doesnt hold up and qb takes too many hitsThis is what i mean in the other thread, i need mensah to start hunting more. He is a master in the system, but there are big plays out there if he wants them
True in this context but I think its a mentality thing with him. If its not a designed shot he’s going by the book every play. If he hunts more everything else will open upI think the problem is when they try the oline doesnt hold up and qb takes too many hits
Biggest question mark on offense to me is whether we can stretch the field with the pass in a close game in the second half? The closest we have been to being in such a game is up two scores against WF and Clemson. When we leaned on the pass against WF (I am talking about the first 3 3 & outs, and I concede the point that Mensah's depth of target was quite shallow on those drives, but I am not sure if that was by design or his choice) it didn't go well. Against Clemson on our two 2nd half TD drives up just two scores, we had just one explosive pass (20-yarder to Barkate), and on the second drive didn't throw the ball once. This will remain an open question this week, since we are playing lowly FSU.This is what i mean in the other thread, i need mensah to start hunting more.
