Playing time on a team that will most likely lose their head coach and will probably finish near the bottom of the ACC. Yeah sounds like a great place to be. LOLAh, stop with the excuses & revisionism. UNC offers a much easier route to playtime & they’re desperately willing to overpay.
I wasn’t advocating, just stating the obvious rationale. If the kid is as good as some people say he is, then the strategy makes sense and he’s not worried about this. If he’s not, then strong argument to be made he should lock in as much money as possible before he’s exposed. It's just as or more likely that by reclassifying and chasing the immediate PT in a garbage environment that you actually don't play all that well as a True Frosh - even if you have a lot of talent and long-term potential.... then what does that do to you Ideal gameplan? Yeah much easier to plan like that oh ill do this, take the big bag, get immediate pt, prove myself as the top frosh cb in the nation, then portal and get the super big time bag from a top 5 program.... uh well it's a lot easier to play bad than good when you graduate HS early and are on a garbage team, with who knows coaching you... Cormani and his mom vs Dopson and his dad.... hmm wonder who is making the better choice of the two there... Both seem bad to me. The funny thing is if he was doing this and going to like say Tennessee or Ohio St, I wouldn't be saying any of that. But when you make these decisions to go to Colorado or UNC... good luck.
There’s only been one kid in Mario’s tenure here that was able to commit to us, decommit and commit elsewhere, and then recommit to us.
That was 5* DL Armando Blount.
Good luck to Dopson on the road to UCF.
Not disputing what you wrote. I mentioned that number solely to make the point that it’s relative. There can't be many people on this board that would be able to shrug their shoulders at $50k in cash.
It's not life changing money, but it's a nice chunk of change.
I have no issue, none, with a guy taking the highest offer. In fact, I think if you don’t do that you’re making a mistake. A windfall like some of these kids seem to be getting at 18 is serious, and taking less is something there’s no way I’d advise an 18 year old to do.
That being said. This ************. This ******, no neck, xxxl fits like sausage casing mother ******. This is the **** that ****es me off.
Last kid that took the path that Dopson is taking is the kid that ended up going to ECU because of his girlfriend.
Antoine Jackson. Now at UCF.Vaguely remember this. Can’t even remember the name. What happened to that guy?

The portal has proven you can flip a room around in an offseason it’s not the best but you can catch up with “misses”When there was true parity this would be how things worked. A successful team doesn’t have a shallow bench to let Tr Fr start. A terrible team has openings. It used to balance itself this way. Now we have the “suck tax” in NIL and it is working itself out in a similar way. Bad teams are coughing up cash to stay afloat.
oconnor is playing now and he is only a soph as well. The portal has proven you can flip a room around in an offseason it’s not the best but you can catch up with “misses”
Having said that I think the corners we are bringing in are very good and this kid would have just been a cherry on top… we will at minimum be bringing back OJ and Lucas outside with guys like slime and waters waiting to crack the rotation
True, but it would pay off my car, my daughter's car, and most of my wife's!There can't be many people on this board that would be able to shrug their shoulders at $50k in cash.
