Completely agree that UNC, of all teams, is an odd choice. But we sold recruits on money and the opportunity to play early so we cannot possibly get all twisted up when other teams do it too.

I don't think people - at least not me - are bother/disappointed/whatever it is by the kid picking money and early playing time as knocks, but that he's choosing those at the reason to go to UNC.

If he flipped to Bama and it was due to money and early playing time, I don't think people would mind - the fact that he wouldn't want to compete for playing time would raise eyebrows, though. UNC is the issue more than anything else because what an absolute disaster they've been this year compounded by the fact BB is looking for a way out, and if he doesn't you still have the drama and nonsense surrounding that program with his chick.

yep this is what it is...but they were the main school pushing how much they will pay they did the same with Flowers who he is tight with but flowers ended up going to UF.

The recruiting cycle isnt over but i woulda not had him flipping to unc this early unless unc just needed this publicity this bad and paid extra for it happening now.

Kids will be volatile, especially with the money now being openly discussed. Malachai decommitted and came back. Now, he's special, but also a torch carrier for the culture. If you think a kid has the talent and can help you win, you stay on him. If you were on the bubble, kid did you a favor and you move on.

I have no issue, none, with a guy taking the highest offer. In fact, I think if you don’t do that you’re making a mistake. A windfall like some of these kids seem to be getting at 18 is serious, and taking less is something there’s no way I’d advise an 18 year old to do.

UNC offered the most money...dad wasnt coy about it from the jump...thats why if u check my post i always said PAY him whatever because i knew nil would be the main basis. The issue for us is.....OUR CB ROOM is loaded in the span of one off szn so us spending the same as unc i highly doubt especially considering what we also have committed in 26 class.

This is where fandom and reality collides. I know for a fact dad is genuinely a um fan...but i dont know their personal finances. Hes done a great job raising that kid so far man...no one ever has nothing bad to say about the kid....dad takes all the heat lol

if im um fans also id chill a bit considering the cycle isnt actually over. Attacking the mom situation definitely a bad look..considering i agree with dad after seeing the post that he committed on that day for mom not that moms wished for him to go to um.

Totally agree with what you're saying, but.... At some point, a grown up needs to enter the room and explain to some of these kids the difference between short term and long term planning, specifically as it applies to football money. If Kent is HIM, it won't matter where he goes to school because he will be great regardless. However, those types of players are really rare. Most kids need coaching and guidance to get better....which will make them get drafted higher....which means more money.....and if they learn a work ethic in addition to sharpening their craft, they will get a second NFL contract which is where the REAL money is.

None of this is directed at you. I just needed to get that out of my system.
