The Trae Young comp doesn’t work for me because when MoKan Elite (?) won Peach Jam, Young wasn’t even the best player on his team; Michael Porter Jr was. That’s another way of saying, what Cayden did was even more impressive. I get why he made the comp as it’s a step up from Tyler tanner, but Cayden’s different.
When E1T1 won at Peach Jam, their whole backcourt could go. Lance Crawford, Grayson Allen, Deangelo Russell, Joel Berry, and Kobe Eubanks. Whole team, really.
But on both e1t1, that mokan elite team, and even on nightrydas a couple of years ago, no one player contributed such an outsized percentage of the team scoring. It’s an anomaly, and he did it while being efficient from the floor and rarely turning the ball over. Averaged 3 steals, 5 rebounds, and 6 assists a game too.
Cayden is mos def a top 5 player in his class, he’ll keep rising from where he is at now. The recruiting services will be hesitant to put him too high given his frame.
arguably FL Rebels second best player was Nijuan Harris who is a 2028 kid. . . Currently a top 50 guy for his class however he is likely being underrated as well. The FL Rebels have ONeal Delaney who was another scorer for them outta Montverde….Miami offered him but we aren’t even pursuing meanwhile Maryland, Ohio State, FSU, UF, and Houston all recently hosted him for official visits. But he isn’t a five star either.
Which again, makes this domination so singular. This is a steph curry in 2022 / Brunson king of New York level he has been playing at these past few months.
