Miami basketball has kicked off their summer workouts today. As we await the summer workout videos or pictures on the Miami Basketball Instagram page, there's more recruiting news to share: Miami basketball has extended an offer to 2027 five-star point guard Cayden Daughtry.



Daughtry announced the offer from the Miami Hurricanes coaching staff on his Instagram, stating, "Blessed to receive an offer from Miami University @caneshoops."

He is a standout from the class of 2027 and has recently received numerous offers, including from Miami, Florida State...

Fifth leading scorer in EYBL 17U last spring playing a year up. From a premier school in our backyard. Really hoping we land this one because he is a knockdown shooter and sets a precedent.

Could be the type of guy that attracts “orcas” as Pat Riley calls them, to sign with Miami.

I'd be interested to know where things stand here atm. From what I've read Iowa may be the team to beat and UConn is in the mix as well. I'm less concerned with Michigan now that Dusty May left.

If we get Cason and assuming Lewis comes back (even the potential of a return is a recruiting tool that can be used against us) there's a logjam at PG. UConn could have similar PT issues assuming Demary returns (see the Lewis example above) for a 5th year and Junior County. It's PG by committee to my knowledge at Iowa for now even with the Ty'Reek Coleman addition.

I know the hometown sell is a factor but I'd assume a guy like Daughtry wants to start on day 1

He’s been playing really well this summer. His recruiting is heating up. Teams recruiting him heaviest now are UConn, Kentucky, Louisville, Arkansas, Florida, Iowa & the U

Seems like being ‘the guy’ and having the ball in his hands is really important to him. Not a negative, just signals that PT is really critical.

Doesn’t seem to be looking for the highest NIL value and instead the best basketball opportunity to shine.

Only scheduled visit is 9/12 with Iowa. He said he will, most likely take 4-5 visits this fall
