These kids in this era have uncles and dads who grew up in the Sean Taylor era and know what’s up. They put them on game..these kids are hearing…”Yeah kid..Caleb Downs is **** good..but he ain’t Sean Taylor. If you don’t know him nephew, google him.” 🙌🏽

- A few programs starting to stand out in the process based on visits and relationships: Ohio State, Georgia, Miami and Texas A&M, Barner told 247Sports. That's certainly not a comprehensive list. Southern Cal is seen as a major sleeper in this recruitment. Indiana and Alabama are also expected to get visits in coming months that could inject them into that frontrunner conversation.

- Miami is the next to receive a visit. Barner will be in Coral Gables on Saturday for the Florida State game.

While many draw comparisons to an Ohio State legend, it's a Miami legend that's top of mind for Barner when he thinks of the Hurricanes.

"When I think about Miami, man, my favorite player ever is Sean Taylor," Barner said. "The things he did back then, I like to compare my game to Sean Taylor. I know a lot of people like to compare me to Caleb Downs, but I see a lot of Sean Taylor in me, man. How hard he played, how he studied the game, how he carried himself."

- For timeline purposes, Barner is expected to narrow down to a top 6 at the end of this football season. A commitment decision is most likely around official visit season next summer.

He’s going to either Ohio state, Georgia Or Miami. No need for a top 6

3. Casey Barner, safety: Few prospects play to their nickname more aptly than Casey "Superman" Barner, a dynamic athlete who processes information from depth and flows through transitions, working backward like a professional.

Barner's three-phase playmaking impact has been a constant through his three seasons of varsity football, and he continues to improve at the details of the position.

Barner's change of direction and burst have always been there when playing the ball in the air. They have translated just as frequently this season, charging the alley or cutting angles to make plays as a tackler.

There is no question, whether watching Barner in person or dissecting tape, that the 5-foot-10, 190-pound missile is incredibly football-focused and sees action unfolding around him at a different speed than his cohorts.

Questions will understandably emerge about how high a 5-foot-10 safety can finish in rankings modeled after NFL Draft projection, which puts a premium on positional value and physical/athletic markers.

However, there is no question at this stage of the process that Barner is chief among the country's best pure football players regardless of classification.

I love the fact that he admires THE GREAT SEAN T but I wish he didn’t see a lot of Sean T “in him” and he didn’t love how “hard” he played. BIG PAUSE
