every team needs an enforcer, he's our Dave Schultz, our Charles Oakley..Poetry, brother. Poetry. That's football right there. People lose track sometimes of the unseen trepidation that guys like Pollard and Carter cause. They make guys start seeing ghosts.
That kid Carter hit yesterday will remember that like the TE from Clemson who lost his spleen to Daryl Sharpton (I think it was Sharpton).
I hope Carter keeps being Carter. I want him to be our enforcer back there. A ghoulish henchman with a scythe in one hand and a list in the other.

Bolden belongs closer to the LOS too. He led the team in tackles last night, and was targeted 8 times and gave up 8 receptions. He’s great at flying to the ball and a great tackler, and I still think he’s got coverage skills, but don’t know if I’d put him over the top by himself.I still think Carter belongs closer to the line of scrimmage, as in a hybrid or striker role. I want Bolden in centerfield.

I'll give you some of your own medicine and hit you with Body Snatcher McCallum. Carter's the dude who takes your legs by pounding your ribs.
A thing of pure beauty that was. Those were the salad days of the sweet science. I used to love boxing so much back then.Love Mike McCallum, that KO he had of Donald Curry is still one of my fondest memories growing up watching boxing. Every time I see McCallum out at fights I remind him of that.

I think Carter might have a claim for most targeting penalties in career.
One of the ones that bugs me is the Lville defenders leaning on Cam and Scaife picks his leg off his boy and we get the personal foul. The refs were more focused on letting us know they were for UL last night than actually calling a good game. 3 egregious flags/ no calls that the refs basically told on themselves with:
1. The late hit on one of our WRs in the first drive. Never saw the replay because we were going so fast but Navarro confirmed on Twitter he was 2 steps out of bounds and they went for the head. Strike 1.
2. The ROUGHING the punter. They knew an auto 1st down was at stake. Clear roughing not running. Called the running. Y’all TOLD ON YOURSELVES AT THAT POINT.
3. The late hit on Amari, who I’m not a fan of his boneheaded plays, wasn’t late at all. Man was still inbounds.
Games like this infuriate me. No accountability at all. As a coach what can you do in a tighter game when calls could swing it? There has to be some sort of hey cut the bias out and do the job you’re supposed to.
I agree I think he’s outstanding as well, I’m just idk if he would be the best choice for a ball hawking center fielder at the moment. He def knows where he needs to be but just got beaten a lot, but LVille has a talented QB and WR room.Disagree on Bolden.....I think he's an outstanding safety prospect. He can move in space and has great instincts. Leave him in center field.

Lol Bill Simmons always called him Bernard Karmell Pollard out of respect. He reminds me of one of my favorite Ravens mercenaries, The Patriot Killer Bernard Pollard.
His job was simply to seek & destroy, find their playmakers & decapitate them.
The hardest & greatest hit I've ever seen was in the 2013 AFC Championship game when Bernard came down hill on an angle & absolutely mollywhopped Stevan Ridley, I mean he literally put him on roller skates & basically ended his career.
He stayed in the league for several years after that, but after that hit Ridley was a shot fighter he was a completely different RB, he went from being a 1200yd back to not being able to crack more than 400yds in a season or stay with a team for longer than a year. Pollard rearranged his grey matter.
Hits so hard, refs want to call targeting on him every time. Crushes this guy and doesn't even go down. Dude is built like a brick ****house. Also, that penalty call on the sideline was bull****, the player was still inbounds.
Was that pun intended?
Agreed. You let that go and warn both players or flag both. Scaife had to defend Cam there. One of the ones that bugs me is the Lville defenders leaning on Cam and Scaife picks his leg off his boy and we get the personal foul.
There was a play that was to the outside and the rb was running, he seemed to have chance to tackle him but went to take on lineman instead, lolStarting to think he blows the coverage on purpose so he can hit something![]()
Ball hawking safeties rarely give up 8 receptions on 8 targets. Bolden flies around and gets to the ball quickly, and is an awesome tackle in open space. He has made some nice plays on the ball already this season, but implying he’s a ball hawking center fielder means he’s taken far out of the box which is taking him away from where he shines. He was torched last night, but where he shined was making tackles. His coverage skills will continue to improve no doubt, but he was at his best flying up to the LOS to meet the ball carrier.A ball hawking center field is EXACTLY how I'd describe him. In addition, he's MUCH better than Carter in that same role. There is simply nothing to discuss or argue about here.
I'll add one more thing, I don't have a very high opinion of Baker so just because those two guys aren't being used correctly, doesn't mean I'm wrong. I stand by my assessment. I'm the same ******* that yelled for years on these boards that Ray Ray Armstrong belonged closer to the line of scrimmage and it wasn't until he got into the NFL that he was properly casted.
