TCU 0-8 in the Big 12 has just beat #5 Kansas. Why is that imporant. Because with a win on Saturday we will achieve the highest ranking in school history. At worst we will move up to #7.

I know we have to lose at some point but I would it rather it be next week so this team gets the honor of being the highest ranked UM team ever.

And while I am posting like an idiot in my own thread let me add that we have an outside shot at being in the top 5 next week. Depends on what Duke, Florida, and Arizona do this weekend.

I don't see UF falling out of the Top 5 with KU losing. But we should definitely move up at least 1 spot if we beat UNC.

Even if UF falls, it doesn't mean they'll be dropping below us. Look at the voter points gap between us and #7 let alone us and UF at #2.

Duke lost 250 voter points when they lost to us at 25/26, KU lost 222 when they lost to OSU, Indiana lost 316 for their loss to Wisconsin at home. Tough to envision a 400+ point change between us and UF unless we run UNC by 50 or UF loses/struggles mightily to Miss St.

I could see us getting to #5 if and only if Duke loses to NCSU and UF falls again.

That's exactly why I said it depends on what happens with duke, Arizona, and Florida. I know we won't jump them outright. 2 of them need to lose in the next 4 days.
