Carson Beck

Beck gets shook when he plays under pressure, like any quarterback. The great quarterbacks and their coordinators know how to adjust to the pressure. Neither Beck nor Dawson fall in that category.

He was the same quarterback at Georgia, even in 2023. The Bulldogs had a great team yet were upset by Alabama in the SEC title game because they pressured him. Georgia took a bit of a slide in 2024 and Beck’s performance reflected this. He needs everything working around him to succeed and is not the kind of quarterback that makes the team around him better.

To be fair, those are rare quarterbacks, especially in college football.

Yup. Weird he didn't look at Lofton who shoulda been his first read, since we just needed 4 yards to extend the drive

They tip their hat too much with the OL lineup. When Bell is LG, we're definitely running.

But McCoy aint ready, why force it?
Samson is more of a T than G.... why force it????
 
Just face it, beck isn’t going to be all in on football as long as he has his modeling career to fall back on
 
There were several times Beck could have picked up good yards on his feet but he was too late to make the decision and/or too unathletic to make the play. He also doesn’t seem very tough and won’t lower his shoulder and get the extra yard when he needs to. I recalled him being a little better in that regard in the past. He was never a good runner but he looked athletic enough to pick up yards when necessary, even keeping the ball on RPO’s at times. Not anymore. Guy looks horribly unathletic.

Beck loses confidence in himself when he throws picks. He was like that last year in Georgia. I think mentally he still isn’t over that. When things go wrong he starts pressing. He needs things to go right. That’s the main difference to me between him and Cam. Didn’t matter if Cam threw a pick he was always confident in himself

After last night how can you feel confidant going in to a big game with Beck? The team looked like they were still in the 4th quarter against FSU.

This was the Carson Beck that we all were afraid would appear in the season and dammit, did he show up last night. Ugh.
 
I think he bet against his own team last night personally. Usually people joke when they say that but I think it needs to be looked into. He completed bascially every pass except the ones that were picked. Looked rigged to me.

He is getting healthier. He missed spring. Hopefully best games still to go. If we can sneak in we can make noise.
