It's hard enough to step into a win-now program and be expected to lead, but he's had to do so while rehabbing a pretty serious injury. He didn't get ANY reps with his receivers—a completely new receiver corps at that—until, what, summer?

While other QBs were vomiting all over themselves this weekend, he looked poised against one of the best defenses in the country, and his top target was a true freshman who just turned 18. Not only that, but the weather was sloppy in the first half.

I think this passing offense has a lot of growth potential.

Dawson played it safe in the second half, but I suspect he'll be more aggressive like last year as the unit continues to gel.

Obviously it’s never a perfect operation, but I don’t think you can really be happier right now if you’re a Miami fan. I try to never get too high or too low after week 1, there have just been so many examples over the years of teams winding up totally different than how they looked in Week 1. So I’m pumping the brakes here some. But I think we went into the week thinking we probably had one of the 10 best teams in the country. After week 1, I’m confident in saying I know we do.

He also seems to be a great leader and has already formed good connections with the team beyond just the offense. Making those bitter UGA fans that claimed he was a locker room cancer, not a leader, etc. look even more dumb.

Think he was very polarizing and as a QB will always get blame but I see A TON of bulldogs who root for him honestly online.

Mentioned this earlier but I know watching live on play where he had good pocket and threw t Fletcher for small gain, he kinda missed #7 Daniels on a streaking post who got behind defense wide open for TD if he hits him. He scanned the field but didnt get to Daniels. Woulda tore roof off stadium if he hits that.

You can tell he’s still getting comfortable getting back to football and this offense.

But when he does, which I believe will be really soon.. he’s going to be really good and work himself into the 1st round.

Also, these RBs are going to have alot of catches this year I can tell.

Why don’t you talk like a man. Just give him his “credit.” Flowers? Come on, man.

My UGA buddy who knows the program very well texted me mid-game and said he was never this emotive and engaged with the team there. Coupled with the tears post-game, seems to have a new lease on life and appreciates the moment.

He played well. Am just worried how he will react after Bethune, when CIS declares the backup better than him, ackshully
