Nobody was stating Beck assuredly would be affected by health issues. You insinuated it. And athletically, actually you are underselling Goff.

Jared Goff had a RAS of 6.03 which isn’t bad. Beck numbers aren’t up to date nor has he completed combine tests across the board but Goff has a slightly faster verified 40/higher verified splits scores.

And honestly, all one would need to do is look at Goff’s movement within the pocket and you’d easily see he was more smoother and agile than Beck. Goff was a true JR. And actually went #1 already. No speculation. If Beck becomes that he would be EXCEEDING expectations. I also won’t even elaborate on comparing him athletically to Cam Ward. Not sure where you even were trying to go with that.

As stated, I think Beck potentially can have a formidable season. But as we just saw with Ward, his play solely doesn’t equate to guaranteed victories or the team meeting TEAM expectations.

I personally just think mass media is underselling his ability to be more than a caretaker. He absolutely can make big league throws and win games.

And lastly, You should worry about your own ability to diagnosis players. (Or mainly inability). It’s not an issue for me.

I think 80% of the season he will play great. The other 20% has a lot of variables. ND/FLA are season altering matchups very early and they make up the 20%.

Team/Beck will need to be steady from opening tip.

As far as goals, Beck playing well doesn’t solely equate to outcome of victories.

If Beck goes on to have a "Ward" like season, Mario is going to be able to pick whatever quarterback he wants as long as Dawson is here.

eh. he was pretty awful (in terms of what you expect from an elite QB) last year (same w ewers at texas).

he made the smart move to come back to college vs going pro like ewers (I suspect the injury had a lot to do with it but it benefits us).

he can absolutely rebuild his stock here though. he likely wont be cam and thats okay. cam was 1 of 1. well never see another cam here again. also I caution anyone putting cam ward expectations on beck. he isnt cam. hes not as good or as talented as cam was. doesn't mean he cant be great though.
