Former Miami Hurricanes quarterback Carson Beck has signed his rookie contract to a four-year, $7.4 million deal with the Arizona Cardinals.



Beck was selected as the No. 65 overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft. Today, he officially signed with the team and is ready to compete in fall training camps. The 24-year-old quarterback is expected to battle it out with quarterbacks Jacoby Brissett and Gardner Minshew for the starting spot.

During his lone season with the Hurricanes, he threw for 3,813 passing yards and 30 touchdowns while throwing 12 interceptions. He also completed 72% of his passes. For his full career, he threw over 11,725 passing yards, 88 touchdowns, and just 32 interceptions. With the Hurricanes, he came up just short in the National Championship game against the Indiana Hoosiers.

He was one of the most experienced college quarterbacks, starting as a junior and senior. Now, he officially gets to show why he can compete for a starting spot on a NFL team. As a starting quarterback, he has an overall record of 37-6.

I think Carson is going to surprise people.

 

He has a good chance to start. Of all the QB's they have on roster, Beck has the skillset lil LeFleur and that McVay/Shanahan system covet the most.

If he can get the zip back in his arm that he lost after the elbow injury he will be a solid NFL QB. He can process the information and make good decisions. The only time he got in trouble at Miami was when he tried to make throws and didn't have enough arm to get the job done.

 

I saw him throw a little his arm looks way healthier. Ball has a lot more zip than last year. He made huge plays but his deep ball was awful last year. Worst case I see at least be a back up in this league for a long time.

At some point, it would be great if people on this board, learn the difference of being back to you being able enough to play and being fully back to yourself, which is different than getting back on the field strength. I said it multiple times but just look at Mark Fletcher after his foot injury. There’s a reason why despite playing a full season he was noticeably faster Come playoff run The Wahtera from the season actually was less than the benefit of additional time of recovery from his injury.
