Carlton Davis Rivals update 6/4

Miami Norland High School DB Carlton Davis is a high priority in this Cane recruiting class - he has UM among his 25 offers. And Davis says he's talking with Cane coaches regularly.

-Says "They're talking about getting me down there, going to see the campus, things like that," Davis said.

-he'll visit UM on Saturday for the camp - he'll watch on from the side.

-Says "I've already visited Miami before," adding that he hasn't seen any other colleges yet.

-has yet to narrow things down but will do that at the end of the summer once he takes visits to Florida, Florida State, Auburn and Alabama.

-Says "I might make a soft commit before the summer ends,"

-Something UM has going for it with him: "My mom wants me to stay close to home,"

-Asked if that's going to play a big factor in his decision, "Sort of."

-adds of Miami that "It's the hometown school and an up-and-coming program. I know a couple of players there - Duke (Johnson), Artie (Burns), Ryan Mayes - they told me it's a good program."

-finished last season with one interception and 10 pass breakups.
