Ill be happy if we land him, Cook and Young for the DBs and call it a day
My god it feels good to have a competent talent evaluator as a our head coach. About time this kid was offered lets hope Richt can pull this out of the bag.
Golden wasnt a bad evaluator of talent for the most part. (I honestly think Randy was worse personally) Not many people knew who the heck Alex Collins was before we offered..Thurston Armbrister as well among other recruits that we found and offered first.
His problem is that he has a blueprint manual for each position and he wont differ from it EVER. Under no circumstances. DB is at the top of that blueprint. For some reason he is just stubborn as all **** when it comes to that position. I wonder what it was about this kid that made him skeptical..He looks pretty **** good to me.
Golden found a lot of studs in their sophomore/junior year (Collins, Rudolph, etc.) and offered them. However, these kids were 5* players. They were going to blow up regardless. Golden was just the first to do it because he had access to more information.
Golden was a bad evaluator of talent. He would probably get a 4/10 for me. Thurston Armbrister was a good find. Offering Njoku before his big offers came in was another good find.
He passed on traveon henry, John battle, Quincy wilson, tmac, Isaiah Mckenzie, skai Moore, Margaret kings, Denver Kirkland, deatrik nichols, Juwan dowels, Fabian Moreau, Denzel perry man (would've dropped him without barrow), waited till fsu offered Eddie Jackson, a couple of lousiville kids, recruited pie as a CB, recruited Rudolph as a CB, etc.
He offered the following kids after seeing them at camp: Ryan Mayes, courtel Jenkins (solid take), Dennis Turner, oline from class 2013 (either gall or Hayden), and other questionable offers I am forgetting right now.
He also offered Terry McCray and Brendan Loftus, which pile on to his ability to evaluate.
4/10 is almost average so we agree he wasnt bad! lol.
Seriously, to be fair, alot of schools passed on some of those kids you named. (meaning FSU/UF). QWilson, McKenzie, SMoore, and Dowels were huge misses. No excusing those. Kirkland was a ***** up. So was Rudolph and the CB thing.
Listen I dont in any way want to defend that sorry POS and his staff. But I didnt think he was horrible. I actually thought Randy was worse. He had the luck of having talent just drop in his lap without even really having to recruit. (MNW kids, BTW kids, Sanford duo, Arthur Brown, etc)
All that said, lets hope we can get Becker on board. PropJoe said it in another thread, getting him and JCook at S in this class would be a huge W.

we need to get a visit. I'm concerned that he might not switch up the OVs he already has scheduled because we're late in the game
You guys know **** well if Golden would have offered this guy you would all be complaining about Golden turning us in to "3 star U" and how we dont get enough big time recruits.

Not every three star recruit has the offer list he does

It's too bad we apparently are not going to get an official visit. Hopefully, he'll change one of them (e.g. FSU), as it is a very rare circumstance that a recruit commits without an OV.
Where does it say that?
