Cantwell/ Congdon hypothetical

I generally agree with what you wrote but there is one key nfl/college difference. Players are "cheap" for their first 4-5 years in the nfl. I could see a team with a top tier tackle on roster drafting another one.
Makes sense. I assume that unproven freshmen are cheaper form an NIL perspective than a proven upper classman. But the 5 star freshman almost certainly shatters that ceiling, much like NBA and NFL rookies did before the rookie salary cap was installed.

Isn’t Ervin projected at Guard?

Also think it will take Congdon some time to acclimate.
I think Ervin could take time but he can bre a road grader at guard i think its his better spot.

I think Ervin upside may be higher than Cogdon...dude is a mean big some of a B*tch and when s&c hits its gonna only gonna get better for him.

This ol class is beastly

How do the other 3 guys look? These 3 dominate the conversation (Cantwell, Ervin, and Congdon).

Nice luxury & question to ponder, though chances of hitting on two freshmen AA tackles are pretty slim.

Had to bump this. Me personally I had a feeling that the coaches really want Congdon and Cantwell as left and right tackles of the present and future. Maybe at this moment Congdon isn't at right tackle but in the future yes and I think when you think of dollars spent for another high end tackle when the coaches probably can't justify it because Congdon is legit I personally think they're going to get the left tackle out of NJ and be more than satisfied. Yes it sucks losing a local player but it's the NIL era and just like running back our oline is going to be more than fine.

Elite recruiting by Mario. Cant wait to see this oline class mature ,win, and get drafted.

How are we so sure about the Jersey kid? Isn't he predicted to go elsewhere?
Unless Mario out of the blue, does the unthinkable and money whips this kid to stop the bleeding, I don't see Olu being a Cane.
As far as this 26 OL, I would love to see LT Cantwell, LG McCoy, C Buchanan, RG Samson, RT ? McCoy or Samson flipped, whatever. I think RR is a favorite and shouldn't be out there. Prove me wrong. Find a RT from Hawks, Wilkerson, Meriweather, Erin or Congdon. I don't care, but I feel much better about this OL than what we showed this Spring. I don't care for coach talk, their are issues with the OL.

Once the wire transfer is posted the next words, I was always a Cane in my heart never a doubt.

It’s hard to ever believe a recruits word ever again even after wire transfer, everything is compromised!

I have major concerns about the OL. I expect Mirabal to prove his mettle here but we are thin and the talent and experience seems light for a team that can compete for the chip again. Now if our aspirations were to win 10 games this year then I wouldnt stress it, but thats not what we are aiming for.

Had to bump this again. We are more than fine at right tackle and left for the next few years. I want Congdon to play right tackle and with him and Cantwell we are great at both tackles.

With congdon’s wrestling background, feel like he might be a fit for a guard spot next season. If we can get a Samson to come back for 27- we could have a line that’s elite with Cantwell, Samson, Max, Congdon, Ervin/Wilkerson

OL is the last position we should ever worry about with Mario

Its real simple. you miss out on a guy like matthews who may or may not end up becoming something. you go get the next guy. thats what the best recruiters do. butch davis missed out on derrick gibson, local guy from killian but he also got sean taylor and ed reed.

Im thinking miami's culture wasnt a match for passive feminine acting ****. Just like back when coker got his sorry show running he was bringing in sissy type guys like kyle wright. a 5 star flop who thought being an all american consisted of just putting on a jersey on game day.

this kid **** i thought he was gonna pull out a hat from a purse and say fantastic im going to a&m

Miami is fine at both tackle spots. Irvin and Tatum will be legit guards. We may need a center. We will also get more lineman and took some big kids the last couple years. Also we took a mountain of a Juco kid in the class of 26. Miami will be fine at O line.
