From the look on Manny's face he didn't know about the rule either. Same with Lashlee.

I’m pretty sure that rule doesn’t exist in the NFL. College has the NFL beat in a lot of things(no spot foul DPI, OT format, etc.) but this rule is beyond dumb. Should’ve never got to that point though
 
TVD was asked if he knew about the rule after the game. It sounded like Lashlee was trying to get a play in but he couldn't hear it/understand it so he spiked it.
 
Never heard of that either. But it’s not half a dumb as Manny thinking his defense would hold 4 times from the 6 inch line and the total mismanglement of the clock, yet again. He just isn‘t good at it.
