Can't spike the ball with less than 0:03 seconds left...

I was calling for the spike. I admit it. WTF do you need 3 seconds? F that rule. Regardless, I don't see us getting into the endzone and no time to kick it.

Right, 100% agree with the replies so far, it is a stupid stupid rule.

But regardless, it IS a rule, and our coaches should have known about it, yes?

That is a dumb rule but that would’ve been pretty hard to get a play called. You would’ve had to called a play prior to 4th and 10 and even at that point it would’ve been hard to do.

I feel like 2 seconds is more appropriate, but we were done anyway

I didn't know the rule either, but it had as much to do with the outcome of the game as me running out of beer.

It's an incredibly stupid rule that was installed by the NCAA around 2012 in response to the outcome of an OSU game. The NCAA has tried hard to take all of the drama out of CFB but this rule absolutely takes the cake. I don't see a high risk of injury in that situation (QB simply spiking the ball to stop the clock). So what exactly are they trying to achieve? Today, all it did was prevent athletes that fought hard all game long from finishing the game the right way (by playing)...NOT by rule. Would it have changed the outcome? Probably not but then Hail Flutie was highly improbable too.

CMD and Lashlee likely make $5 million per year combined. It is their job to know the rules. Just terrible, mane!!
