Clemson plays to intimidate and dominate on defense and play a basic style offense with some up tempo. I don't think Clemson has quite played a opponent that mocks Miami speed. Miami has a very skilled receiving core and will look to get as many one on one matchup as possible. The running game can work against a very aggressive defense. Depth is a concern but we have enough.

Our speed talent and size is equal to Clemson. Miami has to get on the same page with each other. Honestly I give Miami a good chance to win. They need to be patient play focused and stop Clemson fro getting turnovers..nothing easy.

No way. Not yet at least.

Not impressed by Clemsons O at all. They remind me of VT. Now their D is elite. I give them that. I think its gonna be a classic.

My concern is Rosier as it always been. Remember in our 2 big wins we ran for 200+ yards as a team. We will NOT do that against Clemson. Like UVa and Pitt, they will force Malik to read the field and if that happens expect a 4-5 interception game.

People think Rosier is great because of the VT and ND win but look at the stats:

Malik Rosier in the ND/VT game - 26/52 on 50% 339 yards (169 yards per game) 3 TD 3 Int.

In other words, in terms of passing, thats not good enough to beat Clemson. Our success running the ball basically gave us no reason to throw the ball with Malik (and he still managed to throw 50% on 52 throws and 3 Ints)

Agree. Our only chance to win this game is on the ground w Homer, DeeJay, Rosier.

And we need our defense to play as fast as it did against ND and VT.

Maliks secret weapon is his running ability. If he jus gets the ball to his skill players any of them can get yak. On the other side Clemson telegraph many of their plays. Our secondary can go one on one and disrupt the flow of the game.

Malik simply through too high. He has shown confidence not to do that kind of thing too often. It's more of a mechanical issue. Malik is hurt and angry. I think winners die for games like this coming up.

I'm worried about their DL in a big game against our OL. The Clemson DL has had a tendency to have some lapses there but when they are dialed in, they might have the best group in the nation. Couple that with our OL being shaky, I don't see us doing much unless we take advantage of quick hitters and underneath stuff.

We can't beat them with the offensive scheme we have been using. We may not even score. CMR is VERY slow to change but he is not dumb. IMO we will see the kitchen sink with up tempo, tons of motion, at least 2 trick plays probably with DJ who I expect to run, throw and catch next Saturday. Cager and Langham will actually play.
Injury report is scary. Without #23 we are screwed on offense. He has to play. On defense without 4 or 9 I may just sit at the hotel bar in Charlotte and at least be warm. KC against #99 is quite frankly a disaster I don't need to experience at 38 degrees.

Defensively that Cajun RB scares the **** out of me and oh yeah the other guys pretty good too.

We can't beat their A game the question is can we beat their B game. I think the line will be 10+ for good reason. Doesn't make anyone a bad guy and our goal if getting to this game after losing Corn,Jenkins,Njoku and Brad is still impressive. The brand has been improved the fans came back and we are relevant again in December. I'll take it

Hey new porster, don’t know if you’ve figured it out yet but playcalling hasn’t been an issue for weeks. Even during the loss to Pitt, CMR put Malik in numerous positions to gain huge yardage or even score and he missed his throw. VT has a LB just as good as O’Daniel and a D-Line just as good as Clemson with the only difference being on O and guess what? ND has a better O and 5x the back in Adams...Etienne is literally big play or starve, there’s no in between. Stop being so puzzified. These guys are VT with a few more playmakers on offense but replace Jackson with a 50% percent passer.

They have played Auburn who is just as fast as Miami. Granted AU offense wasn't humming like it is now.

Uh huh.

Just like the "fevered pitch" we played at a couple days ago to try to finish the regular season undefeated.

Talkers talk and doers do.

Get the job done.

I’d like to see Richt use those gadget type plays way more often. People often criticize Diaz for being gadgety with all of his blitzes. But it gets the job done. We have looked our best in the games where we used that stuff Early to get teams off balance. Fact is right now we are not good enough to just play our basic offense and consistently move the ball. Personally I love misdirection stuff, trick plays etc. if I was an oc I’d throw at least 3 bombs per game with at least one or two trick plays a game. I’d also use motion to help my qb read the defense too.

They will do the same thing pitt did on defense. Rosier better be working on his deep ball because their going to leave their corners on islands all game. Richards will get his seperation, Berrios going to be open over the middle. I expect to see a lot more Cager and Langham on the outside with Thomas line up on the safeties in the slot. We get this match up with Thomas vs a safety expect Ricth to exploit this.

Malik being able to read and look off their safeties will be huge this game. Their going to disguise their coverage alot like VT did when Rosier threw 3 ints. Getting the running game going will set up the RPO which will add another element to the offense for Clenson to defend. If Rosier hits on a few of those deep balls those corners and safties back up and now we can run if the line can block half decently.

Tempo works only if we are hitting on all cylinders on offense. Any broken up pass, drop, run for a loss, false start, holding, will kill the momentum.

We didn’t choose to pass the ball the entire second half vs Notre Dame. His numbers could have been a lot better

Team stats can be misleading... Aside from sporadic big gains on the ground, Miami's statistically impressive rushing day's were when the opposing team gassed out and Miami bled the clock.

Something interesting to look at and question why, Since ND, Rosier went from throwing 35-40 times per game to 20-25. Only exception is vs Pitt. He's not passing less because the run game is successful. I've heard Rosier is fighting that shoulder injury. Not sure exactly what's going on

Their offense sure isn’t a basic.... They run a lot misdirections, boots, counters, and have a tendency to move the pocket(something Richt should do). They have the best DL in the country and our OL will need to be on top of their game. If Malik can make his throws and has time, I think he can pick on their secondary. If we don’t have Herndon, that’s a huge loss because I feel that him against their LBs is a huge mismatch. Honestly their D isn’t impressive outside of the front 4. Offensively, they have a finesse team. Their OL are not power run blockers. They move extremely well. They have some good weapons on offense like Cain, Renfrow, and McCloud. If our defense comes out fired up and doesn’t get killed by all the misdirection bs, I think they’ll be just fine. Pittsburgh made the defense looked lost of times with some of the misdirection plays. Gotta put some hits on Bryant and make him feel our presence. He’s an elusive guy so I’m hoping he doesn’t make us look sick like Pitts true freshman did.
