I don't agree with the Playmaker. We haven't turned a corner. We won't have turned the corner until the season is over, and we look up to see us standing undefeated headed into the playoffs.

2013 Miami Hurricanes faced a similar schedule and had lots of talent on that team, too. Guys like Perryman, Duke, Dorsett, Allen Hurns, Clive Walford, Stephen Morris, Tracy Howard, older Linder, Flowers, Chickillo, etc.

In Game 6, we played UNC and had many of the same failures we saw vs. Va Tech on Friday. Had to come from behind after Morris had 4 interceptions. Everyone was convinced we had turned the corner. In game 8, we lost to a Crab Legs-led #3 FSU, and we could write that off given his heroics in that game. But then we lost to VT and Duke in quick succession.

We don't face anyone like Winston this season. So how does 2024 sustain winning and especially avoid beating itself against lesser opponents? We've been total *** the last 20 years in conference play. And I can't take another 9-3 season with a secondary bowl loss.

Haven’t turned the corner till you see multiple nfl high value our guys as top 20 first round players regularly. And do perform at a high value on Sundays. You will know then we possibly winning at a high level at that time.

To expand on this, actual NFL guys. Not drafted in rounds 6,7 UDFA and then out in 2-3 years.

Im talking starters where you hear 1-3 dudes per team announce “Miami” when MNF does their starting lineup roll call.

We got bullied and blown out in those 4 losses, I don't see that happening this year outside of maybe the playoffs.

But don't care about comparisons or narratives, just keep winning.

Playmaker didn’t say, “The U is back to championship level football!”…he said we turned the corner. Everyone knows we lose that VT game in most other years in the last decade. Especially last year. Irvin isn’t crowning us but he sees change and he sees something “different” about this team. As we all do. Plus we have the best QB in the country. Stephen Morris wasn’t even the best QB in the conference. **** he wasn’t the 2nd best QB in the conference. (Taj Boyd at Clemson). There is a big difference and it’s noticeable.

We've turned a corner, but maybe not THE corner. That gets determined in mid January. In the meantime, I recommend smoking/ingesting large amounts of marijuana in order to cope with that case of PTSD that you're suffering from.

For the guys talking about NFL talent, I think we have those guys on the roster, most are just not eligible for the draft yet - CiCi, Lofton, Popo, Justin Scott, Armondo Blount, Bain, Zaquan, JoJo, Judd, Jordan Lyle all come to mind. Arroyo, Cam, Anez, Jalen Rivers, X, Baron and Mesidor all come to mind as guys that could be really good at the next level and are eligibile (I believe).

Morris was a decent QB with a cannon for an arm but Cam is a future 1st rounder. If Cam stays healthy we are good to go.

Morris achilles was ****ed after that Savannah State game, Dorsett ****ed his knee up during UNC, and The Duke broke his ankle during the FSU game. Then add in Dorito being a bum *** DC. That 2013 team should have went 11-1.

Fast forward to 2024, Miami finally has a HC and coordinators worth a ****.

The post-FSU collapse is always a worry, it always seems like the teams checked out after we lost to FSU
2014 another good example. That team was 6-3 going into FSU with a true freshman qb and then Miami dropped 4 straight after that game.

Yep and we actually hung around with FSU that first half then the wheels fell off. That was FSU’s best team since the Bowden years. I think Miami was like 3 td underdogs going into that game.
