Canes were 4th in the country in TFL

Please read above @Go Canes!! and any other sunshine pumper. This is the truth of the scheme which is why all these “really cool stats bro” don’t lead to wins.
Nobody is claiming the defense was good under Baker so the OP thread is useless

And no, TFL don't mean everything but when they are paired with #1 in sacks, #1 3rd down defense, #1 in passing efficiency, then it's kind of dumb to try and discredit the stats. Those were the numbers when Manny was last calling plays

Clemson and Pitt were second and third in tackles for loss. Most good defenses rack up TFLs. It just can’t be the only thing you do well. Miami’s defense in 2020 was TFL or bust and that’s not going to get you good results overall.

And that year got us all of a 6-7 record and made every first time starting QB opponent we played look like a heisman trophy candidate! So what’s your point bro?

so the defense was the problem, and not the offesne that was yielding 12 points against the likes of duke?

you remember when you and everyone else on here were b*tching and moaning about richt's playcalling and the offense each and every day that year?

now that richt is gone and manny is the HC we're changing the history a bit and pretending it was the defense's fault, gotcha
