Canes vs UF - hotel suggestions

Man, thought I got a hotel cheap but it turns out it's an RV resort.. oh well, that's the Hilton in gatersville. I'm in.. who's got the ticket hookup?

I was able to snag some redemption nights at the Marriott Aloft a couple of miles from the stadium right when they opened up the block of rooms for access. They have to offer a small percentage of rooms for redemption as part of the Marriott brand so they go quickly. Aloft is one of their lower brands but it is better than paying the crazy prices at the other hotels.

FYI, Marriott Bonvoy opened up some more point redemptions for the Fairfield Inn and Aloft for the weekend. I switched to the Fairfield for the full service bar to finish off the celebration from winning and the free breakfast to help ease the hangover recovery. Get them before they fill their required redemption nights to then be able to overcharge everyone. We need to get canes fans in those hotels

It's not at all. I found it very overrated when I was at school there. I loved my two years at UF because I'm a huge sports fan so I wanted to take it all in and enjoy it, and I especially enjoyed the sports that UM doesn't have. But the football experience gets a lot of hype simply because it's a big SEC school with a big on-campus stadium. The stadium doesn't hold in the noise very well, they don't do a good job of keeping the energy up (no music or anything) so everyone's just sitting down on their phones looking bored, and unless it's a really good game most of the students are gone by the third quarter to go drinking in Midtown. Plus, the concessions / bathrooms and all that suck. They just announced a huge renovation, but no one's really that happy about it because the dumbass AD plans to reduce stadium capacity along with it.

The tailgate situation is also one of the worst in the SEC. It's very scattered and not much of a community vibe that you get at other schools. I personally think this is where Miami has an advantage because our tailgates are like one big party. Tailgating at UF is honestly pretty boring.
BORING????....How could it be boring when you've got the likes of this roaming around??

How is the parking situation?

I hear it's horrendous. I got a hotel in Gainesville, keeping my car parked, and am taking the "RTS"

Probably too late to book in town
I'm being the freeloader dad and crashing on the floor in his dorm room. Lol. Hes on 15th. Nice easy walk. First time since 02 for me. Looking forward to it. Hope those ******** bring plenty of **** filled ziplock bags like last time. That's was a new one for me.

Gotta love that on campus stadium were everyone who isn’t a student has to drive an hour and a half to get to a hotel.

It’s the equivalent of building a UM stadium in Naples.
It's the standard in Florida. Fishbowl style. One way in one way out. Lol 🤣

Hey! Exciting that you're planning your first trip to Trashville for the season! I've been a few times, and it's always a lively experience. When I visited broadbeach accommodation, we found that many visiting fans tend to stay near the arena—it creates a great buzz before and after the game. UM might have a hotel block for season ticket holders, but if you're looking for options, checking out places close to the action could add to the excitement.

I'm at the Hilton a mile from the stadium at this address:
1714 SW 34th Street
Gainesville FL 32607

Paid $919.69 for 2 nights from Friday August 30th to Sunday September 1st - outrageous but no choice!
