A big play like that run can happen to the best of defenses. Staying on the field too long because the O can't make 1st downs will kill a defense over the course of a game. Throw in that the opponent isn't scared to go for it on 4th and one when they start from around mid-field and know they have nothing to fear from the UM offense if they don't make the 1st down. Being on the field for so much time forced Diaz to relieve starters with subs.
