Canes Tears

Just saying, if we put all of our anger here, and there is no positivity, then this will be the only thread going.

Got it.

But a negative thread is possible, without the anger and venting.
There's a difference between an Effin Enos sucks and has to go thread and a thread on who are our best options out there for the OC position.
Both are saying, in the end, the same thing.
The difference is that the later is attempt at a solution- regardless of how crazy, and not restating the problem....over and over again.

Can we just have one thread where all the venting and complaining takes place. I understand why there is so much negativity, but maybe, just maybe, we can keep it all in one place.
OK, time to be positive

1.) Manny Diaz was good at splicing video for ESPN
2.) Manny Diaz SR helped give the marlins a new home.
3.) We were only 57 points away from being 10-2
4.) We are already running a spread offense
5.) Finishing 17th in recruiting is better than finishing 18th.

Who said this thread was for positivity? Simply trying to keep the *****ing and whining in one place.

Why would we want to do that?

Misery should be spread around - shared - and the sore should constantly be picked at.

Maybe because we are doing it to ourselves, not like negative threads are making an impact on Diaz. And I get it, there is a lot to be ****ed about, this season was an abortion.

Good plan...We Fückin suck big hairy pinga....and don't like it (Except for NY of course). PEnos is a piece of Mierda!!!! Fück Barry also...corch extraordinaire...looks like we are stuck with PEnos for another year...ok I'm done

Enos better be the **** out of here right after the bowl game. Mr. systems don't win championships, what a douche bag. Hope his dog tears out his jugular.

I never said there would be much positive to talk about but at least when someone tries to spark a conversation it may not turn into a **** show.
People are ****ed because there is no hope right now. You aren't going to spark any conversation about hope when there is none. Sorry, you are in lala land if you think you can have meaningful conversation about this team when there's nothing meaningful to say other than to vent about they're hopelessness.

F*ck #TNM. F*ck Blake James. F*ck Manny Diaz. F*ck all the soft *** SOFL players. F*ck all you stupid Juniors who enter draft to never play in NFL enjoy your local flag football league cuz that’s all your good enough to play for. Thank you for this thread!!!!!!

I agree with your post and for us old timers we have hit unprecedented rock bottom. If we would have had a decent schedule a 6-6 record wouldn't be as bad but we sucked bad for most of the 12 games.
I just hope we can fast forward to better days cause I don't like complaining either... but bottom dwelling sucks the big one.

It's a great idea. I fully support it. It's also unfortunately highly unlikely as the vitriol spewed on here is out of control & I just don't see it being contained.

As you asked for it, here's some venting & keys to the real issues facing Miami football:

1) The AD is a company man. He makes safe decision designed to keep his job. See CMR hired over Butch Davis. He graduated from a 2nd or 3rd tier university & simply doesn't understand what greatness looks like. He makes safe decisions so he can continue collecting paychecks consistently (not get fired) so he can drive home in his Mazda to his little wife & be comfortable (secure in his job) while we all pay the price for his total lack of b@lls....and Miami Football is significantly underperforming now as a result.

2) The Assistant AD knows softball and idk...knitting. Not qualified to be anywhere near our iconic football program. I'm 100% sure Blake delegates heavily to Jenn Straws. So, really the AD is Jenn. Blake always looks so rested...too rested. I'd like to see an AD that looks like he's putting in serious work around the clock seven days a week until this is fixed. With the compensation they are receiving, that's the requirement. Same thing goes for the coaches. They seriously all look way too rested & healthy. Blake probably delegates virtually all the implementation to Jenn so that's your real AD. Blake is probably only handling interactions with Donors, Golden Canes, the President etc.

3) We have no "bag" game & recruiting is suffering because of that. Funny how 5-7 Nebraska is reeling in top recruits all of a sudden. They haven't been relevant for over 15 years but now all of sudden recruits want to go to the middle of nowhere. Hmm...I wonder why? Doesn't everyone always say: "Win more and the recruits will come." It has almost nothing to do with the W-L record. Remember when Ole Miss had a few years of mind-blowing recruiting success (including a #1 ranked class). How did they go from a perennial door mat of the SEC to a #1 recruiting class? Well, they seriously upped their bag game (allegedly)....which ultimately led to two years of probation but I'm sure Ole Miss fans were grateful for a few outstanding years after sucking for so long. Nebraska is doing it through upping their bag game. It's all about the bags in recruiting.

4) No juice. Top programs like Clemdump allegedly have their players juice. Baga the same thing. It will cause serious health problems for the players early in their lives but they are doing it. Clemdump was allegedly flagged on this before the bowl game last year (and Yabba Dabba had press conferences to profess the innocence of his players & express how great those players were as teammates etc. -- which was likely 100% lies).

5) Roster is missing leaders (particularly at the QB position). I hope that TVD & Peyton will fix this. While he's far from perfect, Kosi deserves credit for maturing & standing by the program. He does fight hard but his inaccuracy is a problem. Deejay and Brevin are leaders. We need more guys that will set a great example, inspire their teammates & hold their teammates accountable. Maybe the coaches could implement a Pod system like Paul Azinger did with the U.S. Ryder Cup team. After years of European victories, that seemed to really help. The players within a unit need to bond, grow together and be held accountable by their leaders (including a head of each Pod). For example, Ed Reed was the leader on Defense and also the leader of the DB Pod. If DBs are missing tackles & not making effort during the game, only players on the field can fix that during a series. A Pod leader should be appointed and that person whether young or old needs to hold the members of his Pod accountable immediately. If they don't up their game on the next play, they go to the bench. Letting whole games go by in zombie mode without making adjustments is ridiculous. Losing one game per season is a failure in CFB. You have to set out to win each game. Each unit should have a Designated Leader and that leader should be empowered to motivate, fix problems & even "call out" his Pod member intra-series. If he sees players loafing, he should chat with his position coach about that & the loafers can ride the pine.

6) OL is hindering the entire offense. Miami won't get back to being great until this is fixed. We couldn't even run it on third down & short for goodness sake. That's just flat out ridiculous. OL recruiting, strength training & coaching has to be the #1 priority going forward (right up there with QB recruiting). This needs to become a major mindset within the program. We're going to start by assembling an incredibly stout OL & then build around that. You can have all the speed burners you want at WR but if the QB is flat on his back, you can't get them the ball. OL recruiting has to be every coaches #1 recruiting priority going forward. The current recruiting class doesn't contain sufficient OL recruits and it doesn't include enough elite recruits. Make it happen on OL first & then watch the program take off...

7) Special teams. Make sure you have a scholarship Kicker that is money. Don't lose 3-4 games again by missing short FGs & PATs. We need someone else great to supplement Price and Alex (new recruit). Get the right personnel on kick coverage units & have them get after it in coverage. Our players on ST coverage units were often too slow and/or loafed leaving one player (Jimmy Murphy) to make all the tough plays. It just simply cannot be that way. The old days = NFL Pro Bowlers like Sean Taylor & Jessie Armstead streaking down the field & just absolutely laying the wood to the opponents. I also think Patke isn't right for this role. We need a dedicated ST coach with significant experience.

8) Offensive Playcalling. This is particularly an issue with respect to: (a) the red zone; (b) slow developing plays that require the OL to block for too long; (c) short yardage plays (we didn't have any effective short yardage running plays); (d) running sweeps with TEs; (e) converting on 3rd down; and (f) identifying our best assets & using them in the correct situations. We need to get our best athletes in space & have more plays that win by design.

9) Inspiring the offense to perform at a high level...every single game. The offense should be fired up & ready to ball out every single game. It is the job of the HC & the OC to ensure that is the case. Losing a game (any game) is a major failure. Losing cannot be viewed as acceptable. In CFB, your season is a failure if you lose one game. So you have to do whatever it takes to get your players fired up & ready to compete on every down in every game. That is the responsibility of coaches who are paid a significant amount to do their job.

10) Lack of preparation by the starting QB. Jarren made some strides this year & at times he showed flashes of brilliance. At other times, he seem unprepared & lacked the requisite fire & competitive spirit. If he has aspirations of being a good QB, his preparation needs to be consistently more thorough & he needs to lead by example as the hardest working & most prepared player on the team. He needs to command the respect of his teammates & control of the huddle. I think Jarren has real potential if he can continue to develop & his bad days don't result in multiple turnovers. Every QB is going to throw INTs. Throwing quite a few INTs in quick succession is far more rare at this level. His bad days simply can't be that bad. He also needs to stop holding the coaches hostage with threats of a transfer. You're either committed to the program & willing to lead by example or you're not. As much as he looks like he could one day be a great QB (if he works much harder in preparation & on his conditioning), the coaches should let him walk if he's going to continue to try & hold on to the QB1 role solely through transfer threats instead of making that choice easy through stellar performance on the field.

11) Players need to realize that strong performance by the team leads to higher draft selections. In 2001, that undefeated season led to a record number of first round picks for Miami (over the course of a few years). Winning attracts the attention of the scouts. Something like 16 first rounders were drafted off that roster. 21 of 22 starters on that team were drafted (the one that wasn't unfortunately was involved in a car accident). The perfect season & the play of the brightest stars elevated the draft position of everyone on the roster. They were all talented players but some got drafted higher than they might have otherwise. Loafing & trying to avoid injury while sleepwalking through games will only lead to being drafted in the lowest rounds or being an undrafted free agent. It's also an amazing experience to win with your brothers in college. It seems that last fact has been lost along the way. There have been too many players focused solely on making it to the NFL (and using Miami as a stepping stone). We need talented players that also want to win at Miami & hate losing.

12) We should broaden our recruiting horizons for OL. IMHO, we should try to establish relationships in the Midwest & try to bring in some corn-fed or milk-fed types from Wisconsin or Iowa for the OL. The Badgers can't take all the top OL in the state so investing some time there could pay big dividends. I'm 100% sure there would be many players who would want to head south to a much warmer climate and enjoy the beaches, nightlife etc. We used to go to Canada to recruit OL (one of Art's favorites) so why not the Midwest?

13) We needed more elite speed at the RB position. That thankfully is coming (Lorenzo, Knighton & Chaney). While Deejay is a great leader & a good playmaker, this has been an issue (particularly with a weak OL). We need backs that hit the hole fast & are a regular threat to house it. This has been largely missing since the end of the Duke Johnson era. Thankfully, we appear to have a great crop of RBs already on the roster. They simply need to emerge and play a major role.

14) Many more issues to come. Will edit this post another day.
