At 6-5 325, Simmons just finished his junior season at Madison (CA), but recently transferred to Helix (CA). The 4-star has been committed to Mario Cristobal and the Oregon Ducks since January, and also has offers from USC, Penn State, Michigan State, UCLA, and Washington State.

Here is an older interview he did as a junior talking recruiting and if school distance would be a n issue. Something just seems a little off with him, but he is also young and if Mario Cristobal accepted his commitment to Oregon at one point then that would imply the young man has some dog in him.

Ahhhhhh I see why he decommitted from Oregon and has yet to land somewhere to the point 247 sports has article with him hoping his recruitment picks up. Simmons just as The Pandemic quarantine started , switched high schools and let in be known he wwanted to exclusively play D-End in college and that he wanted to chase quarterbacks not shield them in college.

So fast forward to signing day an now he is miraculously back to wanting to play Oline since he there is limited dline film of him for evaluation. Maryland just offered him and I suspect there will be others kicking the tires for this young man. Miami's offensive scheme under Rhett Lashlee may interest the young man because Rhett loves his inside zone plays which require the OG's to attack the dlinemen or climb to the next level.

So why was this thread bumped?

UM needs to add a roadgrader type offensive Guard to the 2021 class. He was one of the first Coach Justice targeted and now it's last minute offer time since UM missed on 2021 OL Tristan Leigh.

@Paranos would you take this kid or the one from Texas?

I would prefer 2021 OG Jadean Roberts from North Shore HS in Texas without a doubt and twice on Saturday. The texas recruit wants to be an olinemen and is built like what you want in a guard.

But at this point Miami needs another OG in the 2021 class.

It's interesting that this 6'6" 315lbs young man's future is online but he still posts highlights of him practicing dline drills. Early his insistence on playing dline in college caused many schools to back off on his commitable offers. So then he does an interview with 247 sports saying he back to focusing on playing oline in college and offers start coming back in after early NSD and now he is back showing dline drills highlights. He is gonna mess around an end up getting the Savion Collins treatment of being left without a place to land.
