Canes move up to #14 in Coaches Poll

Coaches Poll always favors the schools with the biggest staffs, mostly state flagships; Today's voting HC is tomorrow's fired HC looking for a coordinator/position coach gig. Your assistant from five years ago now has a head/coordinator job and it's nice to start the begging with "hey, I voted for you guys last year" line. They all do it and it perpetuates the Coaches Poll bias toward's the SEC (only one private) and BIG (same).

The (mostly) Feeding at the Public Trough Poll is a more accurate name.

Couldn't care less about the relatively few teams in front of us and if they deserve it or not. We're ranked in the teens. Let that sink in. I'm glad to be ranked that high and looking forward to earning our way into the top 10.

You can argue teams like Uga and Arkansas shouldn't be ranked after losses to actually good sec teams, but if you're gonna call them overrated I'm just curious who you guys think is underrated here?

Unc is ranked at 23, they're really the only acc coastal team that has much of a claim to be ranked and they lost to Uga. It's pretty tough to justify ranking them above Uga. And arky has a road win over tcu who's now at 19, so they honestly have some sort of right to be ****ed about that.

I honestly don't see the sec bias here, and you guys sound like a bunch of crybabies complaining incessantly about it. We're ranked 14, and we haven't beaten a team with a pulse. There's nothing to complain about here.

#14 is one great start to the season and as long as the Canes keep winning they will keep moving up period, most of the teams ahead of the Canes will likely lose and drop in the upcoming weeks.

^^This x100.

It's all about wins and continuing to get better. We need to beat GT and perform the way we're capable of. If we do, we can go VERY far. I can't think of one team with more font-end talent across the roster than Miami.

Don't know why anyone is so concerned about rankings after week 4. We haven't even hit our conference schedule. Let's see where we're at around mid-to-late November. If we're undefeated somehow at the end of the year then I start nit picking rankings. Right now they mean ****.

We can only play our schedule and we've done with those weak teams and the overhyped team exactly what good teams do, which is to dispatch them with impunity. We can beat every team remaining on our schedule. Will we do it? Obvously, that's why we play the games, but have no doubt we're capable of doing it.

We haven't been ranked in 3 years. Not crazy idea for us to be excited and on the cusp of being top ten next weekend with a new coach and bright future
