Canes Move up to #10 in AP Poll

We beat the **** out of Louisville and it wasn’t a blowout. Just wasn’t as close as the score made it out to be. But y’all have the right to y’all opinion as do I. I never flaunt my opinion as fact
You're right, it wasn't a blowout. It was a 7 point game with 5 minutes left in the 3rd quarter with Atwell and Hawkins running all over the place. They compiled 485 yards of offense. No one would say we beat the **** out of them.

Don't let the final score tell you other wise.

Who ever says “5 minutes left in the 3rd quarter“? That’s totally meaningless.

I could easily just as well say, “Louisville was never really in the game, and only came within a touchdown with a good portion of the third quarter left to play, and the entire fourth quarter.“

You're just parsing words and the game, anyone that actually watched that game understands they were never really in the game by the second half - we answered their scores and controlled the game.

No we did not play a great game and we should’ve kept better control of their offense, but you say 485 yards like it’s some epic record-setting performance, and that’s kind of an average number of yards for them. We had that game in the bag.

When they came within seven we answered immediately and that was that

Go back and reference one of the breakdowns by lance. Emotions aside.. it wasn’t particularly close..

This is stupid on so many levels.

First, twice in the third quarter Louisville was within 7 points. The latest with 5 minutes left. That's not what one would think is a good portion left to play. And before that time, Louisville had more yards, more first downs and more time of possession. Even though they didn't score, they showed our defense couldn't stop them.

Second, if you're within a touch down it takes only one play to change the whole dynamic of the game. These no assurance we score he next 17 points. If anything we shown that we were a mentally weak team that will fold when things go wrong. It wasn't until the last two games we won mainly because King wouldn't allow it.

Third, you're right, 485 yard is not some "epic record setting performance" as you've tried to misrepresent what I said. But I made one mistake, that was our yardage, Louisville actually got 516 yards. They also had 29 first downs to our 19. Still, it is clear evidence that we did not "beat the ****" out of them which is the whole point of this convo.

I have, when it was first posted. He showed we couldn't stop them until the end of the third quarter (presumably when Manny took control of the defense). Perhaps you show review it.

So maybe you should read his opening statement. I’m not trying to be a **** but I occasionally get the all-22 too.. this was one of the ones I saw with my own eyes from the bird eye view. This game was never in question but watching it from our regular fan lens I understand how emotions can skew what really was

Read the play by play breakdown of the thread and exercise some gray matter. They outgained us yardage wise. We could not stop them for close to there quarters. We only "beat the breaks" off them for a 15 minute stretch from 5:00 minute in the third to 5:00 minute in the forth when the defense "decided to play".

What game did you watch? Handily? They kicked a field goal with one second left in the game. And they only did that because VT coaches went ******* stupid and called a time out to ice the kicker and then went stupid and played hail mary defense so liberty could move the ball up another 8 yards to kick the field goal. It wasn't even close to handily.
You right. I was thinking about a different game. My B.

Liberty lost to a team we beat also. How convenient to leave that out
They lost to a team we beat too.
You're 100% right. I wasn't conveniently leaving them out. I think you may be misunderstanding what I was saying. All I was saying isthat it's possible for us to lose to G5 teams in the AP Top 15, especially since they seem better than teams like Liberty and other G5s that have beaten P5 teams this season that we played close. I wasn't saying we will lose or that they can beat everyone, I was just saying it's a valid concern.

Vandy was down by 7 with 9:47 minutes to go in the 3rd quarter against UF. Yet the 38-17 win is being described as a lopsided victory.

"Trask played into the fourth quarter of Saturday's lopsided win, leading to a question on whether he was trying to throw his fourth touchdown pass."

Lopsided and "beat the **** out of them" are synonymous. So it is strange that UF would get credit for a lopsided victory despite being up by just 1 TD in the 3rd quarter (a victory so resounding it improved Trask's Heisman odds), while Miami was also up by 1 TD in the 3rd with about 5 minutes to go; yet a lot of fans want to call the Miami win a close shave. I guess that five extra minutes of having a 1 TD lead really makes a difference in perception.

Yes of course, the UFag worship by the media. This is not a binary either or choice. I'm not calling it a close shave, at the same time I'm not calling it beat the brakes. Lopsided, beat the brakes, beat the **** are all adjective phrases attached to a dominant performance. If it's played close and a teams sprints out at the end, it doesn't turn the game into a dominant performance. It's just a good win.

I understand man. We view it differently but maybe a change of words would help us find a middle ground too so I get your stance

Succeed is relative.

From the movie, Green Mile (execution scene)

Okay, boys, okay. Now, what in the **** happened?

Paul:
An execution. A successful one.

Hal:
How in the name of Christ can you call that a success?

Paul:
Eduard Delacroix is dead. [looks at Percy] Isn't he?
I’m 22 bro you’ve lost me now 😂

I hadn’t realized the movie is old as you are. F-U for making me feel even older than my old *** is. LOL

No worries, I’m just a big hater of the team listed as the #2 team. I will do everything never to give them any credit. Ever. I won’t even Google their official name. So, anything that prevents them from being part of the CFP discussion … I’m in favor of.

Understandable, I don’t have the same detest for Notre Dame cause of the age gap but I will say when we pounded them at the Rock in 2017 it was glorious to see the Notre Dame tears 😂

We've been consistently ranked in & around the top 10 all season. Can't ask for much more for optics to recruits. Nobody remembers final scores.

Stupid on every level is you trying to massage statistics to alter reality, we were in total control of that game the whole way. But you think what you want to think. Most people know what happened.

If you were cowering in fear of losing during that game, then I don’t know what to tell you. Maybe get your estrogen levels checked?

We didn’t beat the **** out of them, we didn’t play particularly that well, but we did win comfortably.

I see a lot of if this and if that outcome would be different. I could say if we had not lost a game we would be undefeated. Would not change the fact we lost. Reality is we are 7-1 and all the if takes in the world will not change that.
