2021 3-star ATH Tavoris Miller landed an offer from the Miami Hurricanes back in January, and since then, the Canes and safeties coach Ephraim Banda have kept tabs on the South Miami Senior star.

“It’s been going great with Miami,” Miller said. “My head coach was just talking with [Banda] about me the other day and I’ll talk to the staff every now and then.”

Most schools are recruiting Miller as an athlete than could end up at WR or S down the line, but he says that right now, Miami prefers him on defense.

“They talk about where I can be at on the field and I’ll tell them that I can play everything on the field,” Miller said. “I do like the defense they run and I just love Miami.”

Once the quarantine ends, Miller is planning a visit to Coral Gables, which would be his first recruiting visit of his process.

“I just want the coaches to keep it real with me and see how it is on campus,” Miller said.

The Canes offer was the first Power 5 bid for 6-0 160 pound prospect, and Miller has landed four other P5 offers in the months since.

“The process has been going great,” Miller said. “South Carolina, Illinois, Indiana, and Kansas have been showing a lot of love. They’ll talk about what can I do for they’re team.”

Miller also says he is getting close to cutting his list and he will release a top group of schools soon.

“Me and my mom are going to sit down and talk about that,” Miller said.

On the field, Miller acts as an all-around athlete, even taking snaps as a wildcat QB and returning kicks, and he also stars on the Cobras basketball team as well.

“I play hard, I like to hit, I like to be everywhere on the field. On gameday, I just come ready to give it my all on the field.”

Whether he’s a Miami caliber player is the more a accurate question, clearly more than a G5 player with a half dozen P5 offers and probably set to get more during senior year.

He looks like a decent safety. @DMoney any testing numbers for him?

No testing numbers I’m aware of. Kids like this need the Opening. Hopefully they reschedule for July.
