How many former Canes in that new football league starting this month?
I didn't know there was a new league. Is it called the American Football League?
yearby?
Ok, so,.. the team that forced the merge was the N.Y. JETS, Had a Qb Joe Willie Namath, guaranteed a win. Jets beat the heavily favored Colts, Balt. Not Indy. So there it is, just sayin’I didn't know there was a new league. Is it called the American Football League?
When I saw just the subject, I thought you were asking an historical question about the old American Football League that eventually merged into the NFL after playing the NFL in a couple of Super Bowls.
A Hurricane great of the early '60's held a Super Bowl record for number of TDs in a Super Bowl. Bill "Brownie" Miller, a consensus All American for us in, I believe, '61, played for the American Football League's Oakland Raiders and scored 2 TDs. He played opposite Fred Biletnikoff at WR. The Raiders that year lost, as I recall, to the great Green Bay Packers. A year or two later, the AFL merged with the NFL. Many of the AFL teams I think ended up in the American Football Conference. (Oakland, Miami, New England, San Diego (or whatever the Chargers are now), I think Kansas City (originally the Dallas Texans), maybe the Houston Oilers, etc.)
I don't know all this stuff or wherever the teams are now since I don't follow the NFL anymore.
I saw Stephen Morris and Yearby.
Actually I just checked and there are 6 former Canes on AAF rosters. How many former Canes in that new football league starting this month?
Just had roster cuts down to 52 last weekThat’s odd. Stephen Morris was listed on Orlando’s roster last week, but he’s not on there anymore.
We currently have the 4th most active players on NFL rosters. Shut upSad state of affairs. For 20 years we were proud how many Canes were in the Nfl. We always had the most players playing in the league. We now are no longer dominant in the nfl and recently only placed a few players a year on nfl teams. Discussing a 2 bit afl league demonstrates how far we have fallen from dominance.
And we have not had a first rounder since 2008. Players on rosters is one thing, Cane players currently starting is at lowest level in 25 years. Typical homer reaction by you and unwillingness to face reality. We currently have the 4th most active players on NFL rosters. Shut up
I guess you forgot about Njoku being a first rounder a couple years back and Dorsett too a year or two before that. And we have not had a first rounder since 2008.
