Canes Football Team Travel Plans

Who gives a flying ****? Wake up and smoke these guys. Like if they have to take the ******* Greyhound up to Boone, NC, this is the University of Miami Hurricanes versus Appalachian State University Whatevs.

The only reasons I am going up there is to: a) see a Canes win and b) to reminisce about that winter vacation in the Blue Ridge Mountains when [MENTION=8971]Geo305[/MENTION] started talking ****, getting me excited about Grolden being fired so that I didn't sleep all night and then had to drive back to Miami the next day and being so tired that I had to stop in Gainesville.

[MENTION=8971]Geo305[/MENTION], that **** sucked.

Are you sure you don't mean Elk River Airport, just west of Banner Elk? He had a home there in the 90's and was a frequent visitor to the area. There isn't an airfield (public or private) in Hound Ears.

Lived in Asheville for 15 years. Daughter graduated from app. Don't get me wrong there are some cute girls up that way but your crazy if you believe this! You get west of Charlotte and the babes thin out quick. The Mnts of WNC are a hippy magnet. Throw in the lesbians & local girls and you end up with not a lot to look at. Definitely isn't up to par with the state of Florida.

Lived in Asheville for 15 years. Daughter graduated from app. Don't get me wrong there are some cute girls up that way but your crazy if you believe this! You get west of Charlotte and the babes thin out quick. The Mnts of WNC are a hippy magnet. Throw in the lesbians & local girls and you end up with not a lot to look at. Definitely isn't up to par with the state of Florida.

lived in boone, now live in asheville. this is more or less true..

however, all those bagging on boone and west carolina in general are being dumb. This place is amazing. And, a progressive oasis amoungst the general dumb *** conservative backwards south. These people are very nice. I only wish it were a bit more diverse.

The Appalachian and Smokey mountains have their fair share of hippies, but the main crowd is one that's active in the outdoors. They live that life while those in other states vacation to do what they can do anytime. Not all of, but a good many of the old guard has sold out to vacationers, which has driven the price of homes up and up. Yes, there's some people you almost need an interpreter for, but they're not as common as the "red neck / hillbillies" in other states IMO.

Not sure how much you have been "out in the country", This statement is true for Asheville, Hendersonville, Brevard, Cashiers, & Highlands. You venture out into the hills & it's as country as it gets. Take a drive thru Madison, Swain, Graham, plus most of Haywood, Jackson, & Macon counties and you just might hear banjos! Great people who would do anything for you.....after you gain their trust. They have a chip on their shoulders directed at "Floridiots" that has to be overcome. Enjoyed my time in Asheville. Really cool place but really hard to saltwater fish!

Them people be speaking the King's English, or at least closer than what we call English. I am related to a lot of deep South people and deal with tons of Brits -- not a big delta in the need for interpreter.

I took greyhound from Atlanta to Chattanooga
