Canes flip Ohio State RB commit Jordan Lyle

Mario Cristobal and staff landed their second commitment of Monday night – this time flipping Ohio State RB commitment Jordan Lyle of St. Thomas Aquinas.

Canes RB coach Tim Harris, Jr. has been on Lyle’s trail for a while now in a flip from the Buckeyes that gives the Hurricanes three running back commitments for the 2024 class. Lyle joins Kevin Riley and Chris Wheatley-Humphrey.

The Aquinas product is ranked as the #11 RB in the country according to the 247sports composite, #20 player in Florida, and #145 player in the country. He had been committed to Ohio State since April.

Wow, just wow.
what a class Mario is putting together.
And to think I was concerned about our recruiting this summer.
I’m never going to doubt Mario’s ability to recruit again.

This program is setting up to win big with this talent infusion over the last 2 classes.

Does he give anyone else Duke Johnson vibes with how he runs and avoids contact? Just gave me a vibe of Duke, bit of power, lots of make you miss. Also very very sudden in his movements and doesn't lose speed.

He doesn’t have the speed of Duke

“What stood out about Miami is that they treated my family extremely well and that plays a big factor in my decision. Also the weather in Miami is something I’m accustomed to. Ohio State is a great program and coach Alford is an outstanding person and coach but those two things are what weighed Miami over Ohio State.”

24/7 now has crystal ball Riley to Bama

Sucks, you recruti your a** off and the player was loyal and then literally the last weeked before signing the hometown team swoops in.

You could say the same thing about us with Jordan Lyle. It happens, you recruit backup plans for a reason. Can't fault kids for wanting to stay home when that's exactly what we want our staff to do most of the time

We won’t win them all and if you are gonna lose anyone no shame when it’s against a dynasty for a kid that can drive to their campus on any given day. It stings because RB is so **** important with the way Mario is building the team but Lyle is a great consolation prize, **** he would be RB1 for most.
