Step right up and sign a contract. But Mr. Coach don’t expect to be here too long, probably only 5 years. We Cane fans insist you produce a national championship or you are out of here. We fired last 3 coaches that were here for 5 years. Current coach, has produced no ship in 3 years. Clock is ticking. All you coaches at other teams alert your agent that Miami may be looking for a new coach soon. But you better win a national championship soon after you are hired or you will also get thrown off the carousel.

It's this. Not naive to think we would win a title within 5 years after the dog poo we had seen for the past 15 years, it's the stubbornness and inability to self reflect that he is doing more harm than good with his offensive philosophy and play calling. To quote a great man and scholar, Mel Gibson, "Pride is a weakness".
 
This thread is missing some context.

5 years is enough time to properly assess how your program will operate under a coach for an extended period of time. We are in year 3 and we are further from the goal than we were in year 2. This, my friend, is known as regression.

If things are going well, you are supposed to improve year-over-year. Manny Diaz has been able to achieve this not only with on the field play but in recruiting as well. The same cannot be said about Mark Richt as we have clearly regressed on the offensive side of the ball. Not only this, but having no answer for QB or OL (the groups Mark Richt is most heavily responsible for) in year 3 is an earmark of bad-to-mediocre talent evaluation, coaching, and scheme.

There is simply no excuse as to why we are traveling to Virginia and putting up 6 points in 3.5 quarters of football.

We were a game away last year but we were clearly punching out of our weight class. We came in this year as the #8 team in the country and with that comes #8-team in the country expectations. Fast forward 6 weeks and we're left with fighting for the coastal.

Doesn't this at all sound eerily familiar to you?

Butch Davis will do it - as he said, he won't have 31 scholarship reductions to contend with.

Five years is plenty - assuming you're not under massive scholarship reductions.

Its a shame that the BOT doesnt know this but we do lol.....crazy **** man we dont even get paid for this **** and we know more then them. There was one guy after BD during the hiring process one fuqin guy that knew and wanted him. That guy is smart the rest of these people aint fit to do there jobs.....hiring a fired coach unbelievable.

After 17 years of futility and possibly 4 different head coaches down the drain, you must be a basket case. The Canes has not given you a ship since 2001 season. How dare they do that to you. After all you are an All American fan on the mighty cis Canes forum.

This is not UCF...........if this school was located in New York I would be all for what your saying. U cant field a team thats pu55y with the talent we have available here. Thats like Brazils soccer team being trash, its impossible cause they breed players in Brazil. Miami should always be top 4 top 7 yearly.

Yeh you are a genius much smarter than everybody. Their not there. Than not then. Ain’t is not an English word. Botch is now where he belongs. At a second rate program like fiu. We did want him and no power 5 program wanted him. Persona non grata!

we are being out recruited. Of course coaches should get part of blame. But we are no longer a hot commodity. Kids want to play for Alabama ,Clemson, Ohio State etc. Watch out for the gator. They have a great recruiter and motivator as coach. He is the new guy on the block looking to grab talent out of our backyard. Many of the best players in the “state of Miami” are not signing with us. Most of our current best players are not from our territory, the territory we use to own. If we don’t sign most of the great talent in our region we are destined to be the crap team of the past 17 years.

Recruiting is a big problem


BIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIG and people think the state its in is good its in good hands and it isnt the numbers show that.

It was a below mediocre Virginia team that possessed a QB with the worst throwing mechanics ever in D1 football. The furor on the boards has nothing to do with a NC. We lost to a team that we were vastly superior to. ****, we dominated them in every statistical category except score. I don't know if the program will ever reach the Alabama level, but we should not be losing to teams like this.

The playcalling is clearly the issue here. When we went to RB and TE screens/flares, we moved the ball.

Probably a bad example using Brazil seeing as how they haven't won a World Cup since 2002 or a Copa America since '07. Those are the only 2 tournaments that matter in that sport for South Americans.

But u get what I mean they have a great recruiting area they breed players that go there and play for them......not the same but sort of similar on a recruiting front. We should keep kids home to play for there city
