Canes Camp report: Scrimmage One

If Richt is narrowing the QB race that a good indication that Perrys not going to be the starter.

The 2nd scrimmage will basically be a showdown between Shirreffs & Rosier.

I'm guessing if Shirreffs performs well again, he'll be named the starter.

The QB race probably won't be over until after the FSU game, depending on how (whoever the QB is) plays in that game will determine if Richt is sticking with'em for the whole season.

Richt conceding he has to cut down the list to get the starter candidates more snaps/looks is probably the most important part of his recap.

What if Rosier also performs well?

Rosier was the statistical winner today, using several measures.

Then he'll be named the starter lol

I said I was guessing, I also stated I think the QB race probably won't be over until FSU, so that means either Shirreffs or Rosier could end up finishing the season as the starter.

Sounds reasonable.

My preference would be that they figure out who the number one QB is before the first game and stick with that. I also realize that that may not be an option this year, especially if the race between number one and two remains close up to the first game.

[VINE][/VINE]For the next scrimmage it has to be good on good(1s vs 1s) with everyone of the top 3 qbs period so that the defenses they are going against can be equal as well as the quality of the offensive line because it's a big difference between our starters and 2nd team lineman

I always thought that it would be MR or ES because I didn't think NP had enough time to absorb all that needed to be absorbed in such A short amount of time.If he had even come in and had the spring it would have been different,But him trying to learn everything in a couple months was asking a lot of an 18 yr. old kid.

Having said that if this is going to be the case,MR vs. ES I'm very surprised that CMR is giving up on NP so quick. The way he had talked he was going to let NP compete for the job until the first game and even into the second one if necessary to see if he could win the starting job.

To throw in the towel so to speak on NP already must mean that Perry really needs a lot of work before even being considered as the starter.

Looks like Dean was the one bear on AR long touchdown. Seems like Young and Delaney are establishing themselves as starters.

The most important thing I've heard Richt say, is the #1 QB needs to be able to handle the pressure of the job, and Rosier did that with 3 TDs today. While Shirreff's completion percentage was nice, they don't award points for completions, they award em' for TDs, and Rosier had 3 of em'.

Once again your ignorance shines through.

At This point, I'm hoping Evan is the guy. He seems to be the most accurate and consistent based on stuff Pete has said and I think the concern over his arm has been overblown. At the end of the day, if you have a guy who can effectively deliver the ball to your playmakers, you have a good chance to win. Not only that but isn't he said to be pretty mobile in the pocket?

Because you an ignoramus. With few exceptions good college coaches never run 1v1 until bowl practices.

Someone who tries to pass themselves off as a football guru should already know that.

You are an ignoramus ****.
