The Hurricanes' three years on NCAA probation is over.

Scholarship restrictions won't be an issue for Miami going forward, and the Hurricanes can surely use the added depth that's coming. The stats from Thursday night's 37-16 loss at Virginia Tech showed Miami used 49 players — 25 being freshmen and sophomores, in some cases because of skill and in many cases because the roster is so decimated that Richt has few other options.

"It's great that we're going to be able to get to a full allotment of scholarships," Richt said Friday. "That's part of our issue right now, that we're very thin in a lot of spots. I think we might have had six true freshmen playing defense at the same time in that ballgame. So when you get your numbers back and you get a couple cycles of recruiting and get some depth, then you can withstand some of the injuries that we've had."

Doesn't feel like it. I am glad the feminist liberal is no longer our President though.

Great news. With the increase in scholarships Richt can finally get some talented players in here to either start or provide quality depth. Plus, recruits that were on the fence might start considering us now that we are off probabtion. There is a light at the end of this tunnel finally. Richt will bring in the players, tweaks will be made to whatever is not working, depth will be restored, and the wins will follow.

Well he couldn't say "the last dumb *** we had as HC did such a ****** job recruiting players that could play, we were forced to put six true freshmans on the field at the same time on multiple occasions."

The scholarship losses are by far the most overplayed excuse for our failure to perform. Our low scholarship numbers are a direct result of attrition, not scholarship losses. We can't keep the players we sign, for whatever reason.
