Canes are Number 10 in newest preseason poll

I hate preseason polls….booooooo
Honestly there shouldn’t be any official polls until mid season. It stacks the deck. It’s much harder to rise from 20 to top 10 than it is to drop from the Top 10.
USA Today "way too early" poll from last year.
Top -10:
50% finished in the top-10.

Top-11-25
20% (3 of 15) finished ranked.

The "official" polls in August aren't any better.
I do this every year. Similar results.

How many two loss teams made the CFP last year? We will never get the benefit of the doubt.
If were talking 2 losses after the ACCCG, I don't see how that happens with ND and Florida on the schedule.
That assumes we split with those 2, and go undefeated in conference.
We'd have to really ***** up the ACCCG.

Also, we may be right there with ND and/or uF for spots 8-12.

That said, in typical fashion, we beat ND and Florida, lose 2 ACC games, and miss the ACCCG all together.

We lost 2 games last year and missed the CFP. The only way we'll ever sniff the CFP is by winning the ACC.

We didn't play in the ACCCG.
SMU played an easy ACC schedule, beat no ranked teams in the final poll, lost in the ACCCG, and still got in.

If we beat UF or ND, go to the ACCCG with 1 loss and lose, we're in.

Duly noted.
Hopefully we'll get that chance to see what unfolds.

Anything less than the ACC championship and playoff appearance is a big disappointment. Yea the offense will take a step back but that’s expected when you lead the nation in a lot of categories. This roster is littered with blue chip recruits, yet other teams seem to do more with less even before the implementation of the NIL.

We're not SMU. They'll always get the sympathetic benefit of the doubt for the death penalty.

We will never enjoy such preference.

If TT and Miami paying 40m for a roster like those other four we getting robbed compared to those teams rosters.
Same thing I said, I don't see a 40m dollar roster on paper but I was told I was wrong when I doubted that number...Maybe the staff values some guys much more then i do idk..ill say this, not making and winning the ACCCG with a 40m dollar roster would be down bad

I think Clemson is a better team rn. I think we have a higher ceiling but they’re a more proven roster with a with less question marks.

I’m hopeful we’ll get in regardless but 🤷‍♂️
