i wondered why espn switched to hyping sos over sor, now i see. find the stat that fits the agenda.

Ohio St nowhere to be found

And Auburn well behind Wisconsin.

Auburn never gets penalized for losing.
I’m starting to believe that Auburn and OSU losses never happened.

They didn't happen. But we played another close game. Wisconsin also dominated their opponent by double digits.
This playoff **** is a joke..

so if Miami plays WI in the championship game, who gets the trophy: Bama or OSU?

What is "Strength of Record?" Usually they use a "strength of schedule" metric, is this the same?

Last night on ESPN they showed a strength of schedule that was not the same as this one.

judges how good your wins are. takes average top 25 team and compares their ability to have your record playing the same teams.

SOR: Reflects chance that an average Top 25 team would have team's record or better, given the schedule.
SOS: Strength of schedule played, from perspective of an average FBS team.

They sound similar, but they are totally different metrics.

sor is obiously the better metric for top 10 teams.

Our biggest mistake is not having any good losses.

If only we had a blowout loss to Iowa State or Syracuse.

Or even if we had two blowout losses to Oklahoma and Iowa.

Then the committee would be looking for ways to get us in.

Amirite?

Unfortunately we are the U. And what they are doing is looking for a way to continue the revenue flow to the OSU/big ten and the SEC/Bama. Honestly once they set the bar of putting in one loss non conference champions like last year. They opened Pandora’s box and it’s really hard to trust this system. I mean we all know if we lose in the acccg and OSU wins the big ten they would absolutely put them in over us. Guarantee it.
